Hugh Cleland died at his home in Grand Marsh, Friday Nov 3rd, 1911. All that loving hands could do was done but to no avail. We know not when the grim reaper death, will set his seal on our brow and say life is no more. Deceased was born in the town of Lincoln, Adams Coounty, Wisconsin, in 1857 in which place he grew to manhood. At New Chester, Nov. 27, 1883, he was married to Miss Sarah Stevenson of Easton, after which they resided on a farm in Lincoln, about 2 years ago they moved to Grand Marsh, where they lived at the time of his death. To this union was born one daughter, Miss Sybil, who lives with her mother. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, one daughter, one sister, Mrs Jennie Bowen of Stevens Point, two brothers James Cleland of this place, and Frank Cleland of South Dakota, and one half brother, Art Cleland of Lincoln. Mr Cleland was well known, and was a kind and loving husband and father,the many friends sympathize with the mourning relatives. Funeral services were held at the house Sunday at 10 o'clock, Rev. Robinson of Adams Center officiating. Interment was in the New Chester cemetery. |
