From the Friendship Reporter, 25 December 1919
Jeremiah E Douglas was born April 13th, 1857, at Point Bluff, Wisconsin, and passed away Dec 9, on the home farm where he had lived for thirty years. November 25, 1880, he was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Reeves, who survives him. Three children were born to this union, two dying in infancy, one son, Marion, now living in Adams county. He leaves one brother, Edwar [sic] and two sisters, Mrs A E Hart of Chicago and Mrs William Colburn of Grand Marsh, besides many other relatives and dear friends. Mr Douglas united with the Methodist church 25 years ago and had ever since been a faithful and consistent member. He was an idea citizen, a kind and sympathetic man, a genial, companionable neighbor, highly regarded by all who knew him, and will be greatly missed in the community in which he had so long resided. Funeral services were conducted by Rev Walter French Scott of Kilbourn, interment being in the home cemetery, Dec 11th. |
