Chicago: Western Historical Co., 1881. p. 72 JERRY MARCOTT, saloon, Ashland, was born in Province of Quebec, Canada, April 22, 1839. He was raised on a farm, and when twenty-three years of age left Canada and went to Michigan. In 1872 he came to Ashland and opened his present business. In 1865 he married, but in 1867 his wife died, leaving one daughter, Georgiana. He was married again in 1871, to Margaret Sir, of Canada. He belongs to the Catholic Church.
