LOCALLIBRARIES

Bi-County Library & Information Consortium (BCLIC) The Bi-County Library & Information Consortium has been working to put birth announcements, marriage notices and obituaries from Barron County papers into their index. They currently have about 12,000 entries -- some going back about 100 years and are doing the Cumberland, Barron and Rice Lake papers, along with a few from Chetek. Rusk County is also starting to add some entries. You can access this database (it should be searchable by name, year, and newspaper) by going to our web site (see link above) and clicking on the appropriate link to the library catalog (there are two links -- one for people inside the library and one for people who are on a computer outside our network). Once you get to the catalog there are several menu options on the green bar near the top of the page -- choose newspaper index. Enjoy!
