The information below is about those who died during World War I from Barron County.
It is by no means 100% accurate, nor complete.  When the book was published, the lists
were compiled and combined as best as possible.  This page is divided into branches of service.

If you wish to send for your ancestors military or pension records -- WW1 - send
for Form-180.  E-mail to INQUIRE@ARCH2.NARA.GOV requesting a maximum
of 6 copies of Form-180, and with your name and mailing address in the body of
the e-mail.  You will receive an acknowledgment of your e-mail.  Use a credit
card when sending for info -- it's faster and you will not be charged unless the
records are found.


Some common abbreviations used were:


bn - battalion kia - killed in action
dd - died of disease  m - married 
dw - died of wounds mg - machine gun
fa - field artillery WNG - WI Nat'l Guard
k - killed  w - wounded
