"Deaths---Charles Guay---
Charles Guay, 79, a resident of Rice Lake for 60 years, passed away quite
suddenly Tuesday at his home on Stout St. Funeral services will be
held at 9 a.m. Friday from St. Joseph's Catholic church with the
Rev. B. Niggermann officiating. Interment will be in the Catholic
cemetery. J.P. Schneider & Son have charge of the funeral arrangements.
Mr. Guay was born Nov 21, 1860 in Quebec, Canada, and came to Rice Lake
in 1880. He married Eleanor Trudell in 1881. Mr. Guay was a
carpenter and contractor by trade and helped build many of Rice Lake's
buildings, including the first brick school house on the north side where
the Lincoln school is located. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs.
Dave (Calista) Busse, Gary, Ind.; Leda, city; and Mrs. Roy (Anna) LaDue,
Highland Park, Ill; one son, Joseph, Fairchild; nine grandchildren, 10
great grandchildren; and two brothers and three sisters in Canada.
Mrs. Guay died in 1923. Four children preceded their father in death."
