Addie (Chase) German: Jan. 19 1939, Bloomer Advance

Mrs. Addie German d. at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Henry Misfeldt in this city this morning, foll. an illness of sev. mos. duration. Her death has been expected at almost any hour for sev. days & comes as no surprise to her fam. & friends.

Addie Chase was born in Dane Co., WI. on May 26 1859 & she was 79 yrs., 9 mos., 23 days old. She came to Chippewa Co. with her pars., the late James & Hannah (Gay) Chase, in 1866 & the fam. settled on a farm in what's now known as CHASE SETTLEMENT.

Here she grew to young womanhood & was united in marrage to Frank X. German, on Apr. 21 1880. Foll. their marriage Mr. & Mrs. German moved to a farm in Cooks Valley, where they lived until they moved into this city 36 yrs. ago. Mr. German died in 1922, since which time the deceased has maintained her home here & spent much of her time with her sons and with relatives in New Auburn.

Mrs. German was the mother of 6 chdn., 4 of whom died in infancy. Surviving are 2 sons, Roy of Eau Claire & Lee of this city. She is also survived by 1 bro., Clayton Chase of Colfax & 1 sister, Mrs. Chas. Bitney of Baraboo, the only survivors of a fam. of 10 chdn., 5 boys & 5 girls.

Mrs. German affiliated early in life with the Meth. Church in Cook's Valley but transferred her mbrship. to the local United Brethren Church upon moving to this city.

She was a loyal mbr. of the church, taking an active part in it's church activities. She also took a great interest the W.C.T.V. organization.

Funeral services will be held at the United Brethren Church on Sat. afternoon. Interment will be in the city cem. Rev. Guy Bailey will officiate.
