Evelyn V. Buntz, age 95, of Menomonie, died Saturday,
Sept. 23, 2000, at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie.
The former Evelyn Veronica Wagner was born July 26,
1905, in the Town of Red Cedar, Dunn County, to John and Angeline (Remmel)
Wagner. She was baptized at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and confirmed at
St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She attended school in the Town of Red Cedar.
Evelyn married Albert Grundman on Oct. 13, 1923, at St.
Paul's Lutheran Church in Menomonie. After his death, she married Otto
Buntz on March 19, 1949, in Stillwater, Minn. He also preceded Evelyn in
death. Evelyn has lived in Menomonie since 1946.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and
enjoyed quilting with the women at the church. She also enjoyed playing
cards with her card club and she loved her flowers. She will be sadly
missed by her family and friends.
Evelyn is survived by two sons and two daughters, Galen
Grundman of Caledonia, Gene (Evelyn) Grundman of Nekossa, and Angenette (Wilber
"Buster") Lewis and Delima (Edward) Sorenson, both of Menomonie; 14
grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a
half-brother, Harlan (Mildred) Wagner of Menomonie; nieces and nephews; and
other relatives and friends.
Besides her two husbands, she was preceded in death by
a grandson, Daniel Grundman; a great-great-grandson, Caleb Leach; a
daughter-in-law, Lucille Grundman; three brothers, Lawrence, Gerald and Ralph
Wagner, a half-brother, Willard "Butch" Wagner, and a sister-in-law, Laura
Wagner.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at St.
Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonie with the Rev. Daniel Schmidt
officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie handled arrangements.
