Fred Lauer Dies At Milwaukee After Long Illness

Former Stanley resident, Fred M. Lauer, 58, died Oct. 5 at Veteran's Hospital, Wood. Funeral services and burial were held in Milwaukee, Oct. 7.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Matt Lauer and lived in Stanley over a period of years, since coming here with his parents in 1897. He served in the Navy in World War 1 and during World War 11, worked in the shipyards at Superior.

He is survived by four brothers, Matt and Pete of Stanley, Anton Lauer of Chippewa; Jake of Green Bay.

Among those who attended the funeral were" Matt of Stanley, Anton Lauer, Eugene Ber, Jacqueline Lauer, Chippewa Falls; Phyllis Ann Madison, Madison.
