April 9, 1948 Funeral Services Held For Albert Verkuilen Funeral services for Albert Verkuilen, who died at Victory Hospital Friday morning were held at St. Ann's Church, Monday morning. the Rev. Paul Pitzenberger officiated. Mr. Verkuilen was born in Hollandtown, april 30, 1876. He was married to Mary Schultz on May 25, 1903 in Thorp. They lived in Thorp until 1909. Previous to moving to Stanley, in 1932, they lived in Somerset, Withee and Athens. Mr. Verkuilen was for many years an employee of the Soo Line railroad. Two sons preceded him in death. Frank died in Athens, Wis., and Ronald, a World War 11 casuality, died on Saipan. Surviving are his widow, two daughters, (Norene) Mrs. Paul Zais, of Stanley; (Magdeline) Mrs. Reinhart Rubenzer, of Chippewa Falls, three sons, Lawrence of Milwaukee; Charles, of West Allis; Clarence, of Detroit, and two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Roeter, of Wausau, and Mrs. Fred Smith of Thorp.
