A new frame church was erected in 1861 and in 1881 it was raised up with basement rooms provided and some remodeling done. This picture of the church was taken ca 1896. A memorial stands on the East Foundation wall where the doors of the Church were located. Reverse side of monument. Plaque to John E "CRYDD" Davis, Born in Wales. Settled in this section in 1849 and donated 1 acre of land from their farm to the community in 1851 for erecting Zoar church and establishing this cemetery. Main Entrance Gate to grounds. Children John J 1853-1893 David 1858-1858 Mary 1860-1860 Erected by their grandchildren in 1951.
