In Memoriam
The first church was made of logs in 1851. A new frame church was erected in 1861 and in 1881 it was raised up with basement rooms provided and some remodeling done. This picture of the church was taken ca 1896. A memorial stands on the East Foundation wall where the doors of the Church were located.



Reverse side of monument. Plaque to John E "CRYDD" Davis, Born in Wales. Settled in this section in 1849 and donated 1 acre of land from their farm to the community in 1851 for erecting Zoar church and establishing this cemetery.
