Mrs Elma Topel

   Lake Mills - Services were held at 1:30 p.m. today in St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church for Mrs Elma Topel, 84, of 601 Fremont St, Lake Mills, who died Friday, Dec 15, in Countryside Home, Jefferson.

   The Rev kurt Gurgel officiated. Burial took place in Rock Lake Cemetery, Bouslough Funeral home handled arrangements.

   Born in Hebron, Jefferson Co, on Nov 7 1903, the daughter of William and Nanette Neupert Langholff, she married Ben A Topel on Oct 22 1923. He died April 28 1968.

   A graduate of Lake Mills High School and the former La Crosse State Teachers College, she received a bachelor of science degree from teh University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.

   She taught in various rural schools in the Lake Mills and in the Lake Mills Middle School for a number of years.

   Mrs Topel was a member of St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Mission Society, Ladies Aid and Lutheran Girls Club. She also was a member of the state and Jefferson County Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs Nina Lang, Fort Atkinson; six brothers, Walter, Norman and Vernon Langholff, all of Fort Atkinson; Elmer and Alfred Langholff, both of Jefferson, and Harvey Langholff. Delevan; Two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

   She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Eichsteadt Aug 16 1981
