Gerrry Jean Packard, age 64, of Cambridge, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at her home.

Mrs. Packard was born in Mounds, Ill., Sept. 22, 1937 the daughter of Gerald L. and Edith Marie (Jackson) Palmer. She graduated from Ferguson High School in Ferguson, Mo. On April 27, 1957, she married Robert Packard in Ferguson. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Melster Candy Company in Cambridge for 15 years. She also worked as a teacher's aide for the Cambridge School District for several years. Gerry was a charter member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cambridge. She enjoyed watching high school sporting events and was an avid cook who loved to entertain for family.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Packard, Cambridge; daughters, Judy L. Packard, Reston, VA, and Janet (Barry) Benson, Cambridge; son, Richard (Judy A.) Packard, Cambridge; four grandchildren, Alyssa and Christopher Benson, and Sarah and C.J. Packard; and a sister, Margaret Ann (James) Richard, Mounds, IL.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 5th at Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel in Cambridge. The Rev. Kevin McKenney officiated. Burial was in Lake Ripley Cemetery.

If so desired, memorials may be made to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church or Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson.
