John Kleinhans
John Kleinhans, 87, of Fort Atkinson died Sunday, June 26, at Fort
Atkinson Memorial Hospital.
Born March 10, 1907, in Braunsbach, Germany, the son of Johann and
Karoline (Martin) Kleinhans, he married Evelyn Wetzel on Dec 16 1933, in
Fort Atkinson.
He came from Germany in 1929 and worked for the Jones Dairy Farm and the
City of Fort Atkinson Parks Department until his retirement.
Mr Kleinhans was a member of St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He
was the former president and secretary of the Southern Wisconsin-Northern
Illinois Gladiola Association. He was a noted gladiola and vegtable grower,
winning many state and national awards.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, John (phyllis) of Fort Atkinson and
James (Penny) or Wausau; six grandchildren, Julaine, Daniel, Tory, Todd,
T.J. and Tara; 18 great Grandchildren; and one sister, Lena Hartel of
Milwaukee.
He was preceded by his parents; one grandson, Tyrone; and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, at
Nitardy Funeral Home in Fort Atkinson, with the Rev. Michael Duncan
officiating.
Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.
