Mabel Langholff
Mrs Edward H Langholff, 86, 230 S Main St, Fort Atkinson, died at 4 p.m.
Tuesday at Caraville, Janesville, where she had been a patient for the past
three months, she had been ill for a long time.
She was born in Oakland Township, Jan 10 1879, as Mabel M Kurtz, the
daughter of John and Louisa Niedecker Kurtz. She married Edward H Langholff
in Pittsville on Oct 22 1902. He preceded her in death on May 8 1960.
she had been a lifelong resident of this community. She was a member of
the First Congegational Church, Fort Atkinson andt its Lenda-A-Hand society;
A member of the Robert G Doole auzillayr of the United Spanish War Veterans;
a fifty year member and past matron of Martha Chapter # 66, Order of the
Eastern Star, and a member of its Past Matrons Club.
She was president of the Robert G Doole auxillary in 1925 and 1926 and
again in 1949 and was department president of the United Spanish War
Veterans auziliary in 1928 and in 1929.
During her year as department president, the Auxiliary held its convetion
in Cuba, where she and her husband attended. They celebrated theri 50th
wedding anniversary in 1952.
She is survived by brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews,
and cousins. Two brothers, John and Carl Kurtz, one niece and one nephew,
also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Congegational
Church, the Rev John Sunburn officiating. Burial will be in the family lot
in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson. Friends may call at the Royal F Hayes
funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.
USWV auxiliary memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Eastern
Star Services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday.
