JEFFERSON- Rudy Reichert, 73, of 105 S. Taft Avenue, Jefferson, died
Friday
night at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are
pending at the Olson funeral home in Jefferson.

JEFFERSON- Funeral services for Rudolph Reichert, 73, of 105 S. Taft
Ave, Jefferson, a former Jefferson County Sheriff, were held this
afternoon at St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. John
Warmuth officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson. Reichert was born 27 March 1915 in
Fort Atkinson, son of Emil and Ella Reichert. On 12 October 1940 he
married the former Marie Westphal. Reichert was a 1943 graduate of Fort
Atkinson HS and served in the United States Army during WWII. From 1940
to 1958 he was employed with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department,
serving two terms as county sheriff. He had been employed with the
Jefferson County Highway Department from 1959 until his retirement in
1977. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Lakeside Lutheran HS Men's Club, and Reinhardt Windl American Legion
Post No. 164. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs Stanley
(Marsha) Wintermute of Fort Atkinson and Mary of Watertown; one sister,
Mrs William (Viola) Robisch of Jefferson; and a brother, Ewald of Fort
Atkinson. He was preceded in death by a brother.
