Colwill, Viola E.
FORT ATKINSON - Viola E. Colwill, age 92, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2003, at Karmenta Center. She was born Oct. 16, 1910, in Fort Atkinson, Wis., the daughter of William F. and Anna Krueger. Viola worked for many years for the A&P Food Stores, Stevens Super Market, and the Department of Natural Resources, until retirement. She was a long-time member of Bashford United Methodist Church. She married Elmer R. (Curly) Colwill on May 5, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1983. Viola is survived by two daughters, Karen (Richard) Laufenberg of Windsor and Carol (John) Dvorak of Monona; six grandchildren, Michael Laufenberg of Madison, David (Kristi) Laufenberg of Pewaukee, Matthew Laufenberg of Janesville, James Laufenberg of Lithonia, Ga., Shari Dvorak of Madison, and Mark Dvorak of Sun Prairie; and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Laufenberg. She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Heiden; a brother, Wilbur Krueger; a grandson, Douglas Laufenberg; and a stepson, Warren Colwill. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, and each one was very special to her. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at the SCHROEDER-CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, Rev. Roger T. Becker will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park immediately following the service.
