B. T. Armstrong, a popular and prosperous young citizen of Kenosha, is actively
engaged in business at the head of the Armstrong Bicycle Company, handling
various makes of bicycles and motorcycles. His birth occurred in Waukegan,
Illinois, on the 11th of August, 1896. His father, Thomas J. Armstrong, who
organized the Armstrong Bicycle Company, is now living retired in Kenosha,
Wisconsin. B. T. Armstrong was eight or nine years of age when the family home
was established in Kenosha, and he attended the common schools of the city in
the acquirement of an education. He also pursued a course of study in the
Kenosha Business College, being graduated from that institution in 1912. He then
entered the service of the Gray Electric Company and remained with that concern
four and one-half years, spending two years in learning the business and a
similar period in the capacity of manager.
Subsequently he went west on a pleasure trip and spent five months in traveling
over that part of the country. On returning to Kenosha he purchased the
Armstrong Bicycle Company from his father and has conducted the enterprise
continuously since, handing numerous makes of bicycles and motorcycles and also
doing repair work. Success has come to him in this connection, and he is widely
recognized as one of the enterprising young business men of the city.
Politically Mr. Armstrong is a nonpartisan, considering the capability of a
candidate of greater importance than his party affiliation. His religious faith
is that of the Congregational church, in which he holds membership, and its
teachings guide him in the varied relations of life.
