Emanuel Epstein Biography

Emanuel Epstein, of the firm of Epstein Brothers, is also a native of Russia,
and in 1891 came to the United States. After living in Chicago for several years
he removed to Oshkosh, where he engaged in the jewelry trade, and later he was
with the firm of J. Gottlieb & Company, of Kenosha. He afterward started a
clothing store in this city at No. 209 Main Street and in 1909 he formed a
partnership with his brother Adolph which is continued under the name of Epstein
Brothers. In that year they purchased the building which they occupy and where
they now have one of the fine clothing establishments of the city.
Emanuel Epstein holds membership with the Odd Fellows, the Knights of Pythias
and the Eagles and he is identified with the ladies' auxiliary of the first
named, the Rebekah lodge. He has been president of the Jewish congregation here
for the last five years, and is the first president of the Western Star Order.
High principles actuate him in all the relations of life. Both brothers are men
of sterling worth and of high moral purpose and they enjoy and deserve the
respect, goodwill and honor of their fellowmen.
