John C. Kelley Biography
As published in
"The City of Kenosha and Kenosha County Wisconsin: A Record of Settlement,
Organization, Progress and Achievement"
by Frank H. Lyman Vol. 2, The S. J. Clarke Publishing Co., Chicago, 1916.
John C. Kelley, who in connection with his brother Willie is engaged in farming
and stock raising upon the home farm on section 25, Bristol townhip, was born
upon that farm on the 15th of July, 1875. He attended the common schools until
he was eighteen years of age and then put aside his textbooks and concentrated
his energies upon farm work. He and his brother operated the home place together
with their father until the latter's demise, in 1910, and have since engaged in
farming and stock raising here. The entire two hundred acres is under
cultivation and they find that they have little time for outside interests. They
use up-to-date methods and modern machinery and as they manage their business
affairs well, have already acquired more than a competence.
John C. Kelley supports the democratic party at the polls and his religious
faith is indicated by the fact that hs is a communicant of the Roman Catholic
Church. He has measured up to high standards of manhood in all relations of life
and has thoroughly identified his interests with those of Kenosha County.
