Kenosha County WI Cemeteries

Special thanks goes to our Kenosha County cemetery expert Jonathan Davis for all the work that he did to double check cemetery data. He created a more accurate and detailed guide to Kenosha County cemeteries that includes latitude and longitude data. The list below is his work and this information must not be resold or copied for profit without Jonathan's permission.

Old Bristol/Wienke This cemetery is located on a knoll about 100 yards south of Hy C. near Hy 45. The property was deeded to the town as a cemetery in 1844 by Underhill Nelson and his wife. In every exchange of that land the 2 acre area remained town property as a cemetery. The Nelsons sold the land to a Kingman family in 1848. The land since then has been owned by Charles Bishop, Ray Bishop, and a Bennett family and Weinke family. Evidently, Lois Stein investigated this cemetery and was not able to find any records of anyone being buried there ever. Someone who dug on the site looking for graves back in the 1970s was not successful at finding any and no records exist of burials there in town records. It appears to be a "cemetery on paper only"
