Judge J.S. Anderson Compiles Complete List of Civil War Veterans Buried in City Cemeteries

A comple roster of Civil War veterans who are buried in local cemeteries, at 
Evergreen and Calvary, has just been compiled by Judge James S. Anderson, of 
this city, which will be valuable as an historical record and is of particular 
interest just at this time with Memorial Day at hand.  Judge Anderson, who was 
one of the founders of Horace M. Walker Post, G.A.R., compiled the records at 
expense of much time and investigation, previous records having been lost and 
additions necessary to the roster having been made through personal investigation 
by the compiler.  It is believed to be accurate and complete record and thanks 
is due to Judge Anderson for his work.  It is suggested that the list be clipped 
here and preserved for future reference and Judge Anderson will welcome any 
information on errors or omissons which may have been made.

The roster contains the names of 160 veterans whose graves will be decorated on 
Memorial Day as a tribute of love and honor.  Of the number 149 rest at Evergreen 
and eleven at Calvary.

In addition to names of the veterans whose remains rest in local cemeteries Judge 
Anderson has listed each with the command with which he served in the war, his 
company, regiment, and were the veteran an officer, his title.  The list follows:
