Source: Portrait and Biographical Album of Green Lake, Marquette and Waushara Counties, Wisconsin, published 1890 by Acme Publishing Co., Chicago, Pages 601 - 602 Andrew H. Scobie, the junior member of the firm of Scobie & Son, manufacturers and dealers in plows, of Neshkoro, was born in the village where he yet makes his home on the 2d of October, 1859. He received his early education in the common schools of the village, afterward attended Ripon College for a year, and later pursued a business course under the direction of W. W. Daggett, of the Oshkosh Business College. When his education was completed he returned home and began traveling as a salesman for his father, in which line of business he continued for a period of six years with good success. At the end of that time he purchased a half interest in the business, and united his energy and enterprise with the experience and more matured judgment of his father. The firm of Scobie & Son has been remarkably successful, and is now at the head of one of the most prominent manufactories of Marquette County. Their trade is constantly increasing and extends over a wide territory. Our subject displays much ability in business circles, and in all probability in the course of time will become one of the wealthiest men of the community. He is still single and makes his home with his parents in the village where his entire life has been passed.
