No, Joan has not fallen off the face of the earth.  Her new job has taken a lot of her time.
Until she is able to get back to the files, I decided to put up a few tidbits from some of 
my newpaper resources.  I added a news tidbits from 1875 on the strange poisoning of 
Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Everhard and an 1884 new tidbit on the fire of the Opera House and Bank.

Heimgehen My mother passed away early today at our home, where she had lived the past 13.5 years, 
since her initial diagnosis with lymphoma (cancer). Hospice and our friends Kevin and Shelly 
helped us to care for her so that her wish could be fulfilled: to pass away in her sleep at 
home in her own room. We will miss you, mom, until we meet again!

Dave's collection of thousands of German Lutheran church records is 
now linked to the Marquette pages under the churches subject heading.
The records Dave has placed on his site so far are from the Ev. Lutheran 
Church and include the 5 churches in Marquette Co. - Crystal Lake 
(Budsin), Shields (Germania), Mecan, Newton and Springfield. Dave says 
it is a very small portion of the total records and that he would like 
to someday continue this project.

NEW LOOK-UP VOLUNTEER, Charles Bagnell, will do census look-ups for all the 
Federal Census. No index available at the archives for 1880, and beyond, so
Township location would be helpful for 1880 and later. 
NEW CONTRIBUTOR Charles 'the Bonedigger' sent instructions for a do-it-
yourself project to create a replacement tombstone. It is available on the 
addresses page under helpful links.
The 1885 Wisconsin State Census of Buffalo is now complete.
