Before civil registration of birth, marriages and deaths, Native American elders told of the history of their people down through the generations and then later, the government & churches recorded the events in our ancestor's lives.

Church records can be of great value as they will list baptisms, marriages and burials and it is through these sources of records that you can help fill in the details of your family tree.  Churches that are presently still in use can be contacted directly and their staff will tell you which records are available and the time frame.  Parishes that are closed and no longer have their records, usually have them forwarded to a nearby church of the same denomination or have them housed in an area archive.

If you have any additional information on churches and their websites, etc. please email me and we'll include it in the page.  THANKS!
