Marjorie Skochil

Marjorie Skochil, 61, of Timber Drive, died Wednesday in Wausau.

She was born April 12, 1923 in Jasper, Minn.

Mrs. Skochil was raised in Jasper and graduated from Jasper High School. She married Edward Skochil on August 11, 1945 in San Diego, Calif. The couple moved to Rhinelander where they owned and operated the Sportsman’s Café for 37 years before they sold the restaurant and retired in April 1983. Mrs. Skochil was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in the church’s women’s groups. She also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Mrs. Skochil is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. David (Trudy) Nievinski of Rhinelander, and Mrs. Michael (Peggy) Munsell of Milwaukee; her mother, Anna Wold of Rhinelander; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, “Red” Wold.

Funeral services are Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Gerald Check officiating. Visitation is Friday after 4 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Northland Memorial Park.

A memorial has been established in Mrs. Skochil’s name.
