Rock County, Wisconsin

Many of Rock County's cemeteries are in poor shape and several are nearing extinction. Some are lost. I have listed below some of the ones that need help. If you know of another cemetery, or have any information to add, please contact me.

Bradford (Smithton) Cemetery (Bradford Twp.) very small; a few of the stones nearer the road are in good condition; there are several in the back that are among some fallen trees and are tipped over and sinking into the ground

Clinton Corners Cemetery (Clinton Twp.) few stones remain in their original locations; one has been dragged to the roadside; overgrown with grasses and weeds; very hard to find the stones; many are broken

Dillenbeck Cemetery (Janesville city) very small with a small, fenced in family plot; the family plot is very overgrown with shrubs and vines; the part outside of the fence is in good condition

Happy Hollow (Gower) Cemetery (Rock Twp.) hasn't seen a lawnmower in years; several stones are sinking into the ground; others have been knocked over, broken, etc. Full photo transcription online
Jack Family Cemetery (Turtle Twp.) exact location unknown; supposedly in Sect. 33 -----

Mt. Olive (Sandy Sink) Cemetery (Fulton Twp.) a small, family cemetery that has seen better days The family whose ancestors are buried here have been working on restoration; full photo transcription is online
Mt. Zion (Clarke) Cemetery (Harmony Twp.) in "very sad shape" Full transcription is online

Saberson Family Cemetery (Beloit Twp.) once on Hwy. 213, now extinct (destroyed by farming) -----
single burial (Johnstown Twp.) this stone was found leaning against a tree; don't know if this was the burial site Transcribed and online

unnamed cemetery (Clinton Twp.) somewhere in a field in Sect. 2 (off of I-43 east of Summerville Rd.) -----
