- I Abram C. STANNARD of Milton Rocky County Wisconsin being
of Sound Mind and Memory
- and mindful of the uncertainties of human life do make publish
and declare this my last will and testament in manner following:
- First After the payment of my final debts and funeral
expenses I give devise and bequeath to my
- beloved wife Hannah T. [N.B., Hannah Theodosia KENYON] STANNARD
all my property both real and personal except the following bequests
to wit:
- To my Son Fremont my Sharps Rifle.
My Son Grant my 15 Vols. of the American Edition of Chambers
Encyclopedia.
To my daughter Etta ARTHUR my History of Rock County with
accompanying map, also my
- Picturesque America.
- I hereby Nominate and appoint my wife Hannah T. STANNARD the
executrix of this my last will
- and testament and hereby authorize and empower her the said
Hannah T. STANNARD to compower compromise and settle and claim or
disavow which may be against or in favor of my said estate & and
waiver her giving Bond. In witness whereof I have herewith my hand
and seal this 21st day of Sept. 1886.

- The above instrument consisting of two sheets was signed
sealed and declared by the testator to be
- his last will and testament in the presence of us who have at
his request signed our names as witnesses in his presence and in the
presence of each other.

- In addition to the children named in the will two infants and
son Marvin B. STANNARD predeceased their father, the infants in
Allegany County, NY, and Marvin in hospital at Fort Donelson, TN, as
a member of the 13th Wisc. Abram also served in the 13th Wisc., was
invalided out, served in the 1st U.S. Sharpshooters, wounded and
discharged. Abram is believed to be a son of Harvey and Nancy
(_____) STANNARD so I'm interested in hearing from anyone descended
from Fremont or Grant STANNARD or Mary Etta (Mrs. J. H.) ARTHUR.

County, NY, died 24 Sep 1886 (dates from Civil War pension file).
His will probably was proved in 1886, but I have only a copy of the
will, no probate information]
