Pioneer Passes away.
Charles lumbar of this place,
died a the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Orr, of Orr, Minn., Feb. 6th,
1917 after a short ilness of la grippe and bronchitis and was brought here
for burial.
Charles Lumbar was born at
Marine, Wi., in 1845 and leaves to mourn his wife and six children, namely
Mrs. Wm. Orr, of Orr, Minn., Mrs. Frank Arseneau of International Falls,
Minn., Mrs. Geo. Brokaw of this place, and Fred, Frank, and Barney Lumbar
and three sisters, Miss Hattie Lumbar, Mrs. Wm. Scott of Sand Lake, and
Mrs. Geo. Goodsell of Couderay, Wisc. and one brother, Henry Lumbar of
Sand Lake. All were present here at the funeral Saturday, Feb. 10, 1917,
which took place from the St. Joseph's church. The interment took place
in the Catholic cemertery here. The community extends their deepest sympathy
to the sorrowing family.
Note: Charles and Lizzie donated
this cemetery to the community. His grave stands by itself and faces easterly,
the Indian direction.

HOLMES, daughter of William HOLMES and Mary Osaga MAINGAN,
on
BET. 1873 - 1874 in J.P.. Elizabeth was born 19 Sep 1854 in Sunrise, MN.
She died 04 Jul 1936 in Orr, St. Louis County, MN and was buried 09 Jul
1936 in Virginia, St. Louis County, MN.
