The house of John Thompson
was located in Section 2,
Township 42N, Range 8W, or
Lenroot Township, and was
situated on the Namekagon
River. The house burned down
in 1922, but John's son, Arthur,
lived on the land until it
became the official property
of the National Park Service
as part of the Wild and Scenic
Rivers Act that had
been established in 1968.
