The two little frame school
houses were erected on the same spot, Section 8-40-7, and school was maintained
for the benefit of the family of Adolph Lessard who kept a stopping place
a few rods distant.
The first school house was
built by Mr. Lessard in 1893 without expense to the district. This
building was destroyed by fire during the summer of 1894 and was rebuilt
during September by Mr. Lessard, this time at the expense of the school
district.
