The Methodist or United Brethren or simply the Caroline Cemetery page has been compiled from various sources... this very old cemetery was originally walked and then has been updated & compiled with more names & data from other sources.  The earliest dates are during the Civil War years.  If you have headstone information or obituaries that you would like linked to this page, email me and we'll add them.

NOTE: The older "residents" have birth dates in the late 1790s -- some of the oldest in Shawano County.  This is a small cemetery but rich in history of these early Pella & Grant Twp. pioneer families.  If you "read between the lines" you'll see a father & mother burying 3 small children all in the span of 2 weeks.  The 1880 census was taken just 6 months earlier and showed the Dumkes with 9 children, ranging from age 1 to 19 - and mother Louise was expecting #10... the Gruenbergs have four of their eight children buried here in the space of 13 years...

And we've tried to include the women's maiden names so you can see how the families fit together.
