ST PATRICK'S CEMETERY
1880 County Road G
New Richmond, Wisconsin 54017
(Erin Prairie, Wisconsin)
FOR YEARS ~ 1849 THRU 1999
St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Erin Prairie is one of the oldest parishes in western Wisconsin with records dating back to 1857. This country church was served in the early years by priests from Hudson, Wisconsin and Hastings, Minnesota.
St. Patrick's Cemetery carries a lengthy history of its own. In researching existing marker stones, the first burial was in 1849--eight years before the earliest church records.
The following is a list of existing grave markers. Many of these markers have weathered over the years obscuring history. Some stones have been discovered under the sod as grass continues to grow over the markers.
It may be interesting to note the many spellings of names as they appeared in the past. Spelling of names are as found on markers.
As time and weather continue to take its toll on these markers--it is very possible that an eight may look like a nine, six or a three. Should you note any corrections, additions or need for deletions we would appreciate your input. We sincerely hope this list will help in your researching your family in the past.
