McIndoe, Charles S. who was the first resident dentists in Rhinelander, and is still engaged in practice in this city, was born in Wausau, Marathon County, Wis., March 24, 1867. His education was acquired in the public schools of that city, including the high school. In 1886 he entered the University of Michigan, taking the dental course, from which he was graduated with the class of 1889. Thus qualified to begin practice, he came to Rhinelander and opened an office in the same suite with his brother, Thomas B. MCINDOE, M. D. at 25 1/2 W. Davenport Street, they both using the same reception room, and he has since retained the same offices. He has built up a large practice and in the 34 years which have elasped since he came to this city and started in his profession he has gained an enviable reputation and has kept abreast with all the new discoveries and developments in the science of dental surgery, putting in new equipment whenever it became necessary. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Dental Society and of the American Dental Association, and for 12 years served as a member of the State Board of Dental Examiners. Aside from his financial interest in his profession Dr. MCINDOE has land holdings in the state of Michigan and owns a fine cottage on the Wisconsin River near Rhinelander. He is a member of Rhinelander Lodge No. 598, B. P. O. E.
