Waupaca County Asylum - Weyauwega, WI

Physician’s Report

To the Honorable Board of Trustees of Waupaca County Insane Asylum:

Gentlemen:

I herewith present my annual report of the medical department for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1925.

I am pleased to report that the buildings and premises have been maintained at their usual high standard of sanitary efficiency.  As a result, sickness has been kept down to a minimum.  There has been very little in the way of acute or preventable disease, which is always prevalent amount this class of patients.

Surgery, too, has been light.  One fractured arm and one fractured thigh…the balance being very minor in character.

About the time that smallpox was threatening the state, we had general vaccination with very satisfactory results.

There were nine deaths during the year as follows:

The year throughout, from a medical standpoint, has been very satisfactory.  The small amount of sickness must be accredited in large measure to the excellent sanitation and hygienic oversight of superintendent and matron who have at all times given me hearty and intelligent co-operation.  I have no recommendations to make at this time.

Respectfully submitted,
E. H. JONES
