Report made available by James G. Gardner - and transcribed by Paula Vaughan - March 2018 REPORT OF WAUPACA COUNTY ASLYM PHYSICIAN'S REPORT To the Honorable Board of Trustees of Waupaca Couty Insane Asylum: I hereby subit my anual reposrt of the medical and surgical department for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1926. From the medical standpoint there has been but little outside of the usual routie which consists of general supervision, in an advisory capacity, of genearl sanitation, food, clothing, bedding, bathing, and general medical care. All of which has been carried out in a very satisfactory manner by the most efficient management of Mr. and Mrs. Hayward. Two cases of diphertia of undetermined origin occurred almost simultaneously. Both were isolated and energetic measures taken to prevent further develpment with the result that the disease was checked without going further. No other dissease of an epidemic nature has invaded the institution during the past year. Aside from colds, indigestion and common eilents, the sickness has been dur in large measure to the conditions that originally called for their committment to an asylum. Surgery for the year has been unusually light. Being confined to a few bruises, burns and abscesses. The mortality list is as follows:
The general sanitary condition of the institution has been maintained at a high standard both inside and out. So perfect in fact that I have no recommendation to make. In closing I wish to thank you honorable board, as well as superintendent and matron for the co-operation I have always received. Respectfully submitted, E. H.
