To the Honorable Board of Trustees of the Waupaca County Asylum for the Chronic Insane Gentlemen: We herewith submit the report of the Medical Department and the Mortality report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1939. The general health of the patients during the year has maintained a good average except during the month of March when there was an increase in acute diseases of the respiratory system, most of which convalesced favorably. Surgery has all been of minor character consisting of minor lacerations which occur frequently with this type of patients. Adequate sanitary requirements in regard to patients and the institution has been well cared for: Recreational and amusement facilities, occupational therapy, supervised diet and hygienic measures continue as a general routine in the institution. The Superintendent and Matron have maintained the individual attention in the patients which constitutes efficient management.
We wish to thank the members of the Honorable Board of Trustees, the Superintendent, Matron, and the Attendants for the cooperation extended to us in the attendance to the medical work in the institution.
