Oneska Family Cemetery
Section 30, Bear Creek Township,
Waupaca County, Wisconsin
Was located on Hemlock Road south of Highway 22.

Mr. Orin Stevenson, a farmer and owner of the Oneska farm stated that when he bought the
farm from the Oneska family that they took the marker with them, that was many years ago, and there
is no way to identify the actual grave site today.

In the 1880 Federal Census of Bear Creek the family consisted of the following:
Fred – age 61
Wilhemena – age 45
Herman – age 22
Bernard – age 19

Herman and his wife Bertha are buried in the Trinity Lutheran (Nicholson) Cemetery. The death Certificate Volume 5 Page 67 for Wilhelmina Oneiske is recorded in the Waupaca Courthouse, stating age as 87yrs. 6mos and 6das, born August 3, 1818 and died January 28, 1906, place of death at home and burial Nicholson, Wisconsin. There is no death certificate there for Fred. Is Fred & Wilhelmina buried in this unmarked grave? I
would say yes until proven different.
