All existing Catholic Church records for northeastern Wisconsin, including those before WI statehood (1848) are kept on microfiche at the Diocese of Green Bay Archives. This includes the mission churches and parishes that no longer exist.
John LeDoux has been the
archivist at the Diocesan Archives since March 2001. They are
accepting requests and you are welcome to write directly to
Assistant Archivist Kris Beisser Matthies (she is also a very
skilled, certified genealogist with years of experience in area
records):
kmatthies@gbdioc.org. They are
happy to work on any requests that come in but it is taking approx.
two months at the time to fill requests. There is a $20.00 fee, for
which they will do up to an hour of research or locate and copy the
first five records found, whichever comes first. Copies are .25
cents per copy. Payment in advance is not required for acceptance of
the fee is required in advance. They take appointments for researchers to come in on Tuesdays the last three weeks of the month. It is necessary to contact the Archives first and make an appointment as they only have a limited number of readers. There is a fee to use the Archives of $10.00 per morning (9:00-12:00) or afternoon (1:00-4:00) session or $15.00 for both sessions in one day.
