- Clintonville, Wisconsin Edward Korth, early resident and prominent farmer in the vicinity of Embarrass for many years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Krueger, in the town of Richmond last Sunday evening. He had been ill for about the last month. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Krueger home and the Zion Lutheran church at Embarrass. Mr. Korth was born in Germany March 26,1949. In 1870 he came to America locating first in Lebanon, Dodge county, with an uncle. He was married to Miss Anna Klug of Ixzonia April 15,1975, and the same year they came to Waupaca county and Mr. Korth purchased 130 acres, mostly woods, in the town of Matteson. Mr. Korth brought his bride and all their personal effects to this community from Dodge county with a wagon and team of oxen. The trip took them 6 days. Their first home was a log shanty 12x16 feet. Mr. and Mrs. Korth continued to reside her until 1917, developing a splendid farm. In 1917,however, they move to Embarrass, turning their farm over to their son Robert. Since the death of Mrs. Korth several years ago Mr. Korth has lived with his children, mostly with his son Emil at Embarrass. Mr. Korth was the father of 12 children, one of which preceded him in death. The surviving children are: Mrs. Frank Kruger. Henry and John Korth of the town of Richmond, Emil Korth of Embarrass, Mrs. Robert Kriewaldt of the town of Richmond, Albert Korth of Pella, Robert on the old homestead, David and Louis of Antigo, Mrs. Herman Jacobi of the town of Matteson, and Julius of Oshkosh. Taking an active interest in the progress of the community in which he lived, Mr. Korth served as supervisor of his township for several terms, helped to organize the first cheese factory in his neighborhood and was instrumental in the forming of St. Peter’s congregation of Pella Opening. ____________________________
Funeral services for Arthur Jacoby, 58, a former Clintonville resident will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Heuer and Stevens -Funeral Home with the Rev. W. 0. Speckhard officiating. Interment will be In the Zion Lutheran cemetery in Embarrass, Mr. Jacoby died Monday, Aug. 17, at his home in Milwaukee.
He was born June 18, 1895 in Eden, Wis., and as a child
moved in the Clintonville
area with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. August Jacoby. His father
preceded him in
death.
Survivors include his wife, and his mother, Mrs. August
Jacoby, Milwaukee; three brothers, Louis, Milwaukee, Frank, Wisconsin
Rapids, and Herman, Clintonville; three sisters, Esther, Mrs. Norman Golz,
Milwaukee, Clara, Mrs. Mike Mason,
Wisconsin Rapids, and Ella, Mrs. Floyd Shunkwiler,
Spokane., Wash.

Albert Jacoby, aged 28, son of Mr. & Mrs. Aug.
Jacoby of Embarrass, died at the home of his parents yesterday morning
after an illness of 6 months. The deceased was in the first
draft this spring,
being entrained at Detroit. He was first stationed at Camp
Custer, later
transferred to Camp Jordan in Georgia. It was at this
Cantonment that he was
taken ill and after examination by the physicians, it was
decided that his
trouble was such, as to make him unfit for military
service, hence he was given
an honorable discharge. Mr. Jacoby returned home where he
has been since then,
under the constant care of physicians. Although he has been
a resident of this
section for only 3 1/2 years he has made many
friends who will be sorry to learn of
his death. Besides his parents, 4 sisters, Mrs. H. Fritz;
Mrs. M. Mason and
C. Martin of Grand Rapids and Miss Esther at home; 5
brothers, Frank of Grand Rapids, Herman in the Army in Alabama, Arthur now
in France, and Edwin and Louis
at home, mourn his loss. The funeral services will be held
at Embarrass and
interment will be made at the Lutheran cemetery.

Herman
Jacoby, Rt. 3, Clintonville, a
retired, farmer, died
Saturday, Feb. 8, at
Clintonville Community Hospital after
a short illness.
He was born March 30, 1889, in Marblehead, Fond du Lac
County.
He served with the U. S. Army during World War 1. He was
married to Martha Korth
at Embarrass on Jan. 20, 1921, and the couple lived on
their farm, at Rt. 3,
Clintonville, since that time. Surviving are 2 sons, Lean
of Marion and LeRoy
at home; 2 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Frank, Wisconsin
Rapids, and Louis in
Milwaukee; 3 sisters, Esther, Mrs. Norman Golz, Appleton;
Ella Shonkwiles,
Spokane, Wash., and Clara Mason, Wisconsin Rapids. Mrs.
Jacoby preceded her husband in death. Mr. Jacoby was a member of St.
Martin Lutheran church where funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon.
Burial was in Zion Lutheran
cemetery, Embarrass.

FUNERAL SERVICES FRO MRS. ARMOND FEHRMAN
She is survived by her husband who operates a cheese
factory at Townsend, and three little sons, Alvin, Lyle and Armond, the
latter of whom is but three months of age. Other survivors are her
parents, three sisters, Hazel, Agnes and Lois, and three brothers,
Leonard, Harvey and Howard, all at home. Burial was in Zion Lutheran church
cemetery at Embarrass. |
