Irven C. Eskritt
Irven C. Eskritt, 91, King, a former Amherst resident, died Tuesday,
July 13, 2010, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St.
James Catholic Church in Amherst, with the Rev. Bob Pedretti officiating
Burial will be on Monday at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial
Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the Mass.
The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst is assisting the family with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at

Mr. Eskritt was born Oct. 14, 1918, a son of the late Elmer and Mabel
(Newby) Eskritt.
He was married to Hattie (Bisek) Eskritt on March 10, 1942, in Rosholt,
S.D. She died Dec. 26, 2006.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include one son, Douglas (Linda), Waupaca; two granddaughters
Brooke (Alex Theodorou) Eskritt, Cedarburg, and Rhonda Eskritt, Waupaca;
one sister, Veda (Curtis) Van Allen, Racine; and many nieces and
nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Arlene and Harry; and two
sisters, Lucille Mortenson and Sylvia Miller.

Hattie M. Eskritt
Hattie M. Eskritt, 92, Amherst, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at St.
Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic
Church in Amherst, with the Rev. Robert Pedretti officiating. Interment
will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Friday until the Mass.
A memorial has been established in the name of Hattie M. Eskritt in lieu
of flowers.
The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst assisted the family with
arrangements.
Mrs. Eskritt was born April 4, 1914, in New Effington, S.D., a daughter
of the late Peter and Mary Bisek.
She was married to Irven C. Eskritt on March 10, 1942, in Rosholt, S.D.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Amherst.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Douglas (Linda), Waupaca; and
two grandchildren, Brooke and Rhonda Eskritt, both of Waupaca.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Bisek; and two
sisters, Christine and Elanor.

Edward Karcheski
Edward Karcheski, 90, a former Junction City resident and father of a
Stevens Point woman, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at the Wisconsin
Veterans Home in King.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 4, in the Main
Chapel of the Veterans Home in King, with the Rev. Paul Vandenhogen
officiating. Burial will be in the Veterans Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be held in the Main Chapel from 10:30 a.m. Friday until
the Mass.
The Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home is assisting the family with

Mr. Karcheski was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Gary, Ind., a son of the late
Anthony and Michaeline (Derdowski) Karcheski. He moved with his
grandparents to a farm in Conrath, Wis., at the age of 7 and attended
Dodgeville State Grade school and Ladysmith High School.
He then moved to the Chicago area.
He was married to Edith Politylo on June 28, 1941, at Assumption Church
in Chicago, Ill.
He entered the U.S. Army Air Corps on Dec. 14, 1943, in Chicago. He was
later transferred to the United States Army infantry, where he served
with the 63rd Infantry Division, Blood and Fire 254 Regiment Company B
during World War II. He served in Germany, England and Switzerland. He
was honorably discharged on May 8, 1946, at Camp McCoy.
Upon his discharge, he returned to Chicago where he resided with his
wife and children. He worked for Blaw Knox and Chicago Bridge and
Ironworks as a welder until moving to Stevens Point in 1966.
He moved to the town of Carson and farmed until he and his wife moved to
the Veterans Home in King in 1995.
At the Veterans Home, he worked as a tugger driver, groundskeeper for
the chapel and was an escort for fellow veterans to their doctor
appointments.
He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the
AMVETS at King.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Margaret Leggero, Crown
Point, Ind., Cindy Friauf, Milwaukee, and Catherine Karcheski, Stevens
Point; two sons, Phillip (Kathy), London, Ky., and Christopher (Hattie),
Santa Fe, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and his extended
family, Stephanie Stokes, Patrick Bacher, Richard Louze, Paul Kirsh and
Sam Rhoda.
He was preceded in death by four sisters Mary, Stella, Evelyn and
Hedwig.

Frank S. Kempka
Frank S. Kempka, 54, Big Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at his
home.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Voie Funeral Home
in Iola, with the Rev. Jim Frank officiating. Interment of cremains will
be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the
service.

Mr. Kempka was born Sept. 6, 1956, in Wauwatosa, a son of the late
Edward and Esther (Wojciechowski) Kempka.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately out of high school, attaining
the rank E4.
After his honorable discharge in 1976 from the Army, he worked for the
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He was an over-the-road truck
driver until 1992, and then was dispatched at H.O. Wolding Trucking
until 2004. He was also a rural route carrier for the Waupaca Post
Office until February 2005.
Survivors include one daughter, Melanie (Josh Wollenberg) Kempka, Big
Falls; two sons, Michael (Amanda Gray), Iola, and Jonathan, Ogdensburg;
one brother, Edward (special friend Marsha Parse), Fremont; and one
granddaughter.

Leone M. Koss
Leone M. Koss, 84, 726 Owl Lane, Stevens Point, died Sunday, Dec. 19,
2010, at the Portage County Health Care Center in Stevens Point,
following a battle with cancer.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic
Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating. A
private burial will take place at a later date in the King Veterans
Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point
from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 9 a.m. Wednesday until
the Mass. St. Peter's Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of the
Americas will combine with the general rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the
funeral home.
A memorial in her name will be established at a later date.

Mrs. Koss was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the
late Casimir and Mary (Przybylski) Helminiak.
She was married to Jerome A. Koss on Aug. 23, 1947, at St. Peter
Catholic Church in Stevens Point. He died on Sept. 15, 1987.
Prior to starting her family, she worked at Worth Fly Co. and then with
the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point food services and Portesi
Frozen Foods for 37 years until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Peter Rosary Society Rose 7, Catholic Daughters
of the Americas, American Legion Auxiliary and the Moose Family Center.
She was an usher at St. Peter Catholic Church and did volunteer work for
Bannach Elementary School for the last several years.
Survivors include four daughters, Karen (Jim) Olsen, Waupaca, Kathleen
(Sonny) Macknick, Stillwater, Minn., Mary (Dean) Adamczak, Plover, and
Kim (Jim) Ford, Stevens Point; two sons, Thomas (Sharon), Stevens Point,
and Bryan (Kim), Sun Prairie; 13 grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Louis Helminiak.

Chester
A. Zinda
Chester A. Zinda, 83, of Stevens Point, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20,
2010.
Chester was born Feb. 27, 1927, the son of Frank and Josephine (Kulinski)
Zinda. Chester served in the U.S. Army in Hawaii during World War II.
Chester married Theresa on Nov. 23, 1950.
Chester is survived by his wife, Theresa Zinda; one son, Chad (Nancy)
Zinda of Plantation, Fla.; three daughters Christine Hubert of Stevens
Point, Kathy (Dan) Elliott O'Neil of Fitchburg and Karen (Bob) Yip of
Bell, Calif.; four grandchildren, Amy (Josh) Zinda Ooyman, Cheston (Lyne)
Zinda, Tyson Elliott and Jonathan Zinda; and five great-grandchildren.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Josephine Zinda;
four brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, in the Main
Chapel at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Sister Cathy Wottreng
will officiate. Burial will follow in the Central Wisconsin Veterans
Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of
the service Monday in the Main Chapel.

Leo W. Garski
Leo W. Garski, 82, Stevens Point, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at the
Portage County Health Care Center in Stevens Point.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bronislava
Catholic Church in Plover, with the Rev. James Trempe officiating.
Burial will be in Veteran's Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be held at the Shuda Plover Family Funeral Home in
Plover from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Friday
until the service.
Mr. Garski was born Oct. 9, 1928, in the town of Alban, a son of the
late Anthony and Rose (Narloch) Garski.
He entered the U.S. Army on Feb. 21, 1951, in Milwaukee. He served as a
military police officer. He was discharged as a corporal on Feb. 20,
1954, at Fort Knox, Ky.
He was married to Geraldine Wanserski on June 25, 1966.
He retired from the maintenance department at the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he worked for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Dean (Michele), Rudolph; two
brothers, Donald, Stevens Point, and Anthony (Janet), Wisconsin Rapids;
and two grandchildren.

Rustie G. Travers
Rustie G. Travers, 62, formerly of Plover, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010,
at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King.
Rustie had farmed with his family in the Bancroft area. He had served in
the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include a sister, Sharon Podloski; and other relatives and
friends.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the Wisconsin
Veterans Home -- Ainsworth Hall Chapel, King. Graveside service and
military honors will follow in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial
Cemetery, King.

Vernon G. Pietz
Vernon G. Pietz, 81, formerly of Stevens Point, died Monday, May 17,
2010, at the Wisconsin Veteran Home in King.
Visitation will be at Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 4 to 8
p.m. Monday, May 24. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday
at the Central Wisconsin Memorial Cemetery in King.

Mr. Pietz was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Oshkosh, a son of the late Louis and
Bertha (Becker) Pietz.
He was a career military man. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on Oct.
29, 1946. He served during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He was honorably discharged on June 30, 1967.
Survivors include one daughter, Debi Waymire, Clintonville; two sons,
Donald, California, and David, Lake Mills; three grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.

Norbert N. Kitowski
88, Wausau, died Friday December 18, 2009 at Mount View Care Center,
Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born November 26, 1921, in Wausau, son of the late Leo and Mary (Kutella)
Kitowski. On April 3, 1943, he married Doris Jojade in San Antonio,
Texas. She survives.
Norbert had been employed at the former Curtis Company, Keebler Cookie
Company and retired from the US Postal Service in 1983. He was a veteran
of World War II, serving with the US Army and participating in the
Battle of the Bulge.
Among his various involvements, Norbert was a member of the American
Legion, Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, the Veterans of Foreign Wars,
Burns Post No. 388 and was an active member of the Wausau Elks Lodge No.
248. He enjoyed ice fishing, golfing and was an avid fan of both the
Packers and Badgers.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Kitowski, Wausau one son, David
Kitowski, Wausau, several nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides
his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jeff, one sister,
Martha Graykowski and one brother, Raymond Kitowski.
An Elk's Lodge of Sorrow will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday January
4, 2010 followed by a Memorial Service at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral
Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Gerald Pehler OFM Cap. will
officiate. Burial will be in the Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery,
King, Wisconsin. Friends may call on Monday January 4, 2010 from 4:00
p.m. until the time of services at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.

Leonard Swift
Leonard "Len" Swift, 82, Stevens Point, a former director of the Portage
County Library, died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at Aspirus
Hospital in Wausau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St.
Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Al Burkhardt officiating. Burial
with full military honors will be in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial
Cemetery in King in the spring.
Visitation will be at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 5
to 8 p.m. Sunday and at the church from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Monday. A
general rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
A memorial in lieu of flowers will be established in his name for the
Portage County Public Library and St. Joseph Church.

Mr. Swift was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Waukesha, a son of the late James
and Ruth (Anthes) Swift.
He entered the United States Navy on July 23, 1945, in Milwaukee. He
earned the World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was
honorably discharged on Aug. 27, 1948.
He was married to Imogene R. Sanders on Oct. 7, 1950.
He graduated from St. Norbert College in De Pere in 1952.
He was active in the Army R.O.T.C. while in college and after until
1974.
He was a teacher for a number of years until he became the library
director of the Portage County Public Library for 17 years until his
retirement.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Jean Marie (Kevin Boynton)
Swift, Rothschild, Mary Kaye (Donald) Ernest, Mequon, Patricia Ann
(John) Schmitz, Necedah, and Carol Lynn (James) Schelke, Virginia; two
sons, Michael (Leslie), West Bend, and James (Ann Marie), Milwaukee;
three brothers, Thomas and John, both of Milwaukee, and William (Karin),
Sussex; three sisters, Joanne Boyle, Kenosha, Kate Swift, Milwaukee, and
Sandra (Charles) McLester, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip and Ernest; and
two sisters, Rosalie and Donna.

LeRoy H. Fritschler
LeRoy H. Fritschler, 85, Wisconsin Rapids, a former Stevens Point
resident and brother of a Stevens Point man, died Saturday, Dec. 5,
2009, at Strawberry Lane Medical Center in Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 12, at Ritchay Funeral Home in
Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. Al Wierzba officiating. Burial will be
in Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.
Visitation was at the funeral home Friday, Dec. 12, before the services.
Mr. Fritschler was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Tomahawk, a son of the late
Calvin and Bess (Stewart) Fritschler. He attended P.J. Jacobs High
School in Stevens Point.
He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1941 for World War II, serving in
Hawaii, California and Iwo Jima.
He was married to Loretta M. Jaworski on Sept. 4, 1948, in Stevens
Point. She died Jan. 8, 2004.
He was an architect for Don Hougen Architectural Firm in Wisconsin
Rapids from 1946 until 1976; then for Altman, Larson, Fritschler
Associates Engineers in Wisconsin Rapids from 1977 until 1980; then as
director of terminals for C.W. Transportation in Wisconsin Rapids from
1980 until 1988.
He was a pilot and flew from Alexander Field Airport in Wisconsin
Rapids.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Gail (Goska) Fritschler, Eau
Claire; one brother, Calvin (Mary Ann), Stevens Point; one
sister-in-law, Leona Gerke, Madison; and two grandsons.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, Larry and Lance; one brother,
Lawrence; and one sister, Rose.

Mario F. Camalieri
Mario F. Camalieri, 85, Amherst, a former minister at Greater Point
Baptist Church in Stevens Point, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at St.
Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Wisconsin Veterans
Home main chapel, with Pastor Woody Baumgartner officiating. Burial will
be in the Central Wisconsin Memorial Veteran's Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be in the chapel from 10 a.m. Thursday until the
service.

Mr. Camalieri was born Feb. 23, 1924, a son of the late Joseph and
Virginia (Lojancio) Camalieri.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was married to Lola Glick on Oct. 19, 1946, in Chicago, Ill.
He moved to Wisconsin in 1975 and purchased an A&W restaurant, then
moved to Stevens Point in 1986 to serve in the ministries of the Greater
Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Cory, David, Mark (Karen) and
Mario (Stacy); two daughters, Cynthia (Roy) Snowbank and Marlo (Brad)
Jenson; one sister, Mary Aho; and 12 grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Frank Kamely, Nello
Camalieri, Michael Camalieri, Christopher Camalieri and Catino Kamely.

Wilbert F. Hassler
Wilbert F. Hassler, 86, Stevens Point, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at St.
Michael's Hospital.
There will be no services. Interment will take place at a later date at
the Central Wisconsin Memorial Veteran's Cemetery in King.
The Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point assisted the family with

Mr. Hassler was born April 25, 1923, in Milwaukee, a son of the late
George and Agnes (Luther) Hassler. He grew up in Milwaukee and graduated
from Boys Tech High School.
He was married to Dorothy Hebert on Nov. 20, 1943, in Milwaukee. She
died in 2007.
He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps on Feb. 18, 1944. He was stationed at
San Angelo, Texas, as a bomb sight mechanic. He was discharged May 4,
1946, receiving the World War II Victory Medal and the American Campaign
Medal.
He worked as a carpenter and was a 50-plus-year member of the Wisconsin
Carpenter's Union.
He lived the majority of his adult life in the Milwaukee and New Berlin
areas, moving to Princeton in 1964.
Upon retirement he and his wife moved to Harlingen, Texas, living there
for more than 20 years.
After his wife died, he was a resident of Oakridge Senior Living
Community in Stevens Point.
Survivors include two sons, Donald (Karen), Stevens Point, and Bruce,
Slinger; six grandchildren, including Jason, Stevens Point, and Kelly
(David) Burkemper, Pewaukee; and five great-grandchildren.

Norman Lee Myhra
Norman Lee Myhra, 83, 2317 Welsby Ave., Stevens Point, a former state
representative and Stevens Point postmaster and an advocate for
veterans, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at his home while under the care
of Aspirus Hospice Care.
A celebration of his life will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity
Lutheran Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Steven Olson and Sandra
Wendland, A.I.M., officiating. Burial will follow at the Wisconsin
Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King.
Visitation will be at Boston Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with
a combined veteran's ritual at 6:30 p.m. led by American Legion Post 6.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Wisconsin Lions Camp
in Rosholt.

Mr. Myhra was born Feb. 17, 1925, in Amherst, a son of the late Otto and
Amanda (Lamphear) Myhra. He attended school in Rosholt and later moved
to Milwaukee where he was employed until April 1943.
He was drafted into the United States Army at the age of 18 and sent to
Camp Croft, S.C. There he received infantry training and was sent
overseas to Anzio Beachhead to join Company B, 7th Infantry, 3rd
Division. In 1944 he moved to north of Naples to train for the next
action and volunteered for the 7th Infantry Battle Patrol. On Aug. 15,
1944, his infantry's boat landed on the Beach of the Bay of Cavalier in
France. Once landed, the troops traveled about one mile down the road
where he hit a booby trap with the primer cord strung so he hit it waist
high with his rifle in his arms, tearing both hands to shreds. He walked
back to the beach area for help and was picked up by landing craft and
returned to Naples, France. He was then taken to the United States to
Army General Percy Jones Hospital in Battle Creek, Mich. After many
operations, he was discharged on May 8, 1945.
During his military service, he received the Purple Heart, Combat
Infantry Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with two
bronze stars and Good Conduct Ribbon.
He returned to Wisconsin and used part of his GI Bill to attend school
for business education.
He was married to Margaret A. Pedersen on May 17, 1946.
After the marriage they moved back to central Wisconsin. For several
years, he worked in direct sales with Watkins Products, sold insurance
for Modern Woodmen of America, and in 1960 was elected to the Wisconsin
State Legislature where he served three terms in the Assembly. In 1966,
he was appointed postmaster of Stevens Point by President Lyndon B.
Johnson and served in that capacity until 1986 when he retired.
He served for many years on the Wisconsin Board of Veterans Affairs and
the Portage County Veterans Service Commission. He also was a member of
the 3rd Division Society, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of
Foreign Wars, Military Order of the Purple Heart, American Legion and
the Stevens Point Noon Lions Club.
He and his wife spent time at his year-round cottage in St. Germain.
He and his wife also hosted several foster children over the years. In
1975, they hosted Evett (Schramm) Hartvig, and she has been a part of
their family for 34 years.
Survivors include his wife; four brothers, Palmer, Iola, Clarence,
Menominee Falls, Archie (Delores), Wheatland, Calif., and Kenneth
(Kyoko), Oakland, Calif.; Evett (Don) Hartvig and their son Andrew
(Kelly) Hartvig, Rosholt; dear friends, Don and Jeanette Omernik,
Stevens Point; and many nieces and nephews.

Helen L. Parnham
Helen L. Parnham, 83, 3200 Water St., Stevens Point, died Friday, Dec.
6, 2002, at St. Michael's Hospital.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Boston Funeral Home, with Janet
Jacoby, chaplain at St. Michael's Hospital, officiating. Cremation will
follow and burial of her ashes will take place at Wisconsin Veterans
Memorial Cemetery at King.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home until the
services.
Mrs. Parnham was born Jan. 1, 1919 in the town of Amherst, a daughter of
the late Enoch and Myrtle (Howen) Wold. She grew up and attended schools
in Amherst. She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn.
She was married to Robert E. Parnham on Dec. 27, 1945, in Amherst.
Following her marriage, she lived in many areas across the United States
because of her husband's military career before settling back in
Amherst.
She worked for a while as a practical nurse at a number of nursing homes
in the surrounding area.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Linda (Dan) Konkol,
Amherst, and Laurie (Tom) Mumbrue, Waupaca; three sons, Wayne (Patricia)
of Smyrna, Tenn., Howard (Linda), Arizona City, Ariz., and Darrell
(Betty), Stevens Point; one sister, Edna (Bill) Henke, Nelsonville; 13
grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Robert E. Parnham
Robert E. Parnham, 89, 3200 Water St., Stevens Point, died Thursday,
Oct. 8, 2009, at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point, while under
the care of Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Boston
Funeral Home in Stevens Point, with Ministry Home Care Hospice Chaplain
JoAnn Chase officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the
Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Monday until the
celebration.

Mr. Parnham was born March 17, 1920, in Kansas City, Kan., a son of the
late George and Viola (Hottman) Parnham. He grew up and attended schools
in La Junta, Colo., and Albuquerque, N.M.
He enlisted in the Kansas National Guard in 1937 and then in the U.S.
Navy in August 1939, becoming chief radioman before being honorably
discharged in August 1947. Two years later, he enlisted in the U.S. Army
in 1949 and received an honorable discharge on Oct. 1, 1961.
He taught ROTC at the Berkeley Campus in Berkeley, Calif., in the mid-
to late 1950s.
Mr. Parnham was married to Helen L. Wold on Dec. 27, 1945, in Amherst.
She died on Dec. 6, 2002.
After retiring from the military, he worked for the Tomorrow Valley
Co-op in Amherst for the next 20 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a past member of the Plover Veterans of Foreign Wars and the
Amherst American Legion and was a former scoutmaster in Amherst.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Dan) Konkol, Amherst, and Laurie
(Tom) Mumbrue of Waupaca; three sons, Wayne (Patricia), Smyrna, Tenn.,
Howard (Linda), Kokomo, Ind., and Darrell (Betty), Stevens Point; one
sister, Mary Stahle, Melrose Park, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty.
