Adam 'Abe' Wroblewski
Adam "Abe" Wroblewski, 79, 5283 N. Forest Circle, Stevens Point, died
Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at his home. He was under the care of Ministry
Home Care-Hospice Services.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter
Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin C. Louis officiating. Burial will
be at a later date in the Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be in the St. Faustina Room of the church from 9 a.m.
Wednesday until the Mass.
A memorial in his name will be established at a later date.

Mr. Wroblewski was born April 18, 1928, in Stevens Point, a son of the
late Martin and Katherine Wroblewski.
He entered the U.S. Army on March 5, 1946. He was stationed in Germany
as a heavy truck driver. He received the World War II Victory Medal and
the Army of Occupation Medal. He was honorably discharged May 20, 1949.
He was married to Connie Groshek on Feb. 11, 1950, at St. Stanislaus
Catholic Church.
He was employed as a truck driver, working for various companies
including W.E. Damrau and Dahlman Truck Line. Most recently he retired
from C.W. Transport as a mechanic after 26 years.
After his retirement he drove truck for Myron Soik & Sons and Blue Top
Farms.
He was a member of the AMVETS and American Legion Post 6.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patti (Dave) Lechtenberg,
Pewaukee, and Marilou (Mike) Niemczyk, Eagle River; two sisters,
Josephine and Clara Suchon, both of Stevens Point; five grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.

Anton
Shudarek
Anton Shudarek, 63, of 1700 Monroe St., died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at
his home.
Private services were held and a military honors burial will take place
in the National Veteran Cemetery in King. Shuda Funeral Service &
Crematory assisted the family.
Anton was born May 8, 1944, in Stevens Point, a son of John and Stella (Waldoch)
Shudarek. Anton entered the U.S. Army in 1968 and served his country as
a Private First Class. He was honorably discharged in Milwaukee in 1970.
Anton worked at Ellis Stone.
He is survived by his father, John Shudarek, Stevens Point; three
sisters, Theresa (Darrel) Sternitzky, Fond du Lac, Agnes (Ted) Pavelski,
Mosinee, Mary Tasch, Stevens Point; and his brother, Steve Shudarek,
Stevens Point.

Anton Shudarek
Anton Shudarek, 63, 1700 Monroe St., Stevens Point, died Sunday, Feb.
24, 2008, at his home.
Private services were held. A military honors burial will take place at
the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.
Shuda Funeral Service & Crematory of Stevens Point and Plover assisted
the family.
Mr. Shudarek was born May 8, 1944, in Stevens Point, a son of John
Shudarek and the late Stella (Waldoch) Shudarek.
After attending local schools, he entered the United States Army in 1968
and served as a private first class. He has honorably discharged in
Milwaukee in 1970.
Upon returning to the Stevens Point area, he worked for 20 years at
Ellis Stone Construction.
Survivors include his father, Stevens Point; three sisters, Theresa
(Darrel) Sternitzky, Fond du Lac, Agnes (Ted) Pavelski, Mosinee, and
Mary Tasch, Stevens Point; and one brother, Steve, Stevens Point.

Antoinette 'Toni' Andelman
Antoinette "Toni" Andelman, 94, Maple Ridge Assisted Living Center, died
Tuesday, March 4, 2008, following a short illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Convent Chapel in
Stevens Point, with the Rev. Thomas Lindner officiating. Private burial
will be at the Wisconsin Veteran's Cemetery in King at a later date.
Visitation will be at the convent from 10 a.m. Saturday until the
services.
Memorials can be made to Portage County Humane Society or to your
favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
Shuda Family Funeral Service of Stevens Point and Plover is assisting

Mrs. Andelman was born Jan. 15, 1914, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of
the late Jon and Francis (Iwanska) Kubies. She attended Chicago public
schools, graduating from Secretarial College.
During the Depression she worked for Mars Candy Co.
She was married to Morris "Andy" Andelman on May 12, 1934, at Blessed
Sacrament Church in Chicago, Ill. He died on Jan. 6, 1995.
They ran a dry cleaning store in Chicago until 1951 when they moved to
Stevens Point.
They ran Andy's Drive-In on Highway 10 until 1954.
She started working in retail at Tempo Department Store, then went to
work at Campbell's, McCain's and finally LeAnne's Lingerie.
Survivors include one daughter, Jacquie Klein, Austin, Texas; two sons,
Jerome (Bonnie), Rockford, Ill., and Joel (Marilyn), Waupaca; six
grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Freida.

Mercedes 'Dolly' Bassa
Mercedes "Dolly" Bassa, 93, Amherst Junction, a former operator of
Hank's Duck Inn in Amherst Junction, died Friday, May 23, 2008, at
Infinia Nursing Home in Faribault, Minn.
Memorials services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, at King
Memorial Chapel at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Burial will
follow in King Military Cemetery in King.
Mrs. Bassa was born Aug. 24, 1914, in Marinette, a daughter of the late
Albert and Mary (Marden) Clumb. She named herself "Dolly" at an early
age and grew up on a farm in rural Door County.
At the outbreak of World War II, she went to Milwaukee and was employed
by International Harvester as a quality control inspector.
She was married to Henry J. Bassa in 1952. He died Oct. 24, 2002.
In 1959 they moved to Amherst Junction where she ran a family-friendly
tavern called Hank's Duck Inn until her retirement in 1984.
Survivors include one nephew, Chuck (Lee) Carr, Faribault, Minn.; two
great-nieces, Connie Glarner and Cheryl Strike, both of Faribault,
Minn.; and five great-great-nieces and nephews.

Orville L. Pomerenke
Orville L. Pomerenke, 75, Waupaca, a town of Lanark native and brother
of an Amherst woman, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Appleton Medical
Center in Appleton.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Holly Funeral
Home in Waupaca, with Rev. Eugene Gauerke officiating. Military
graveside services will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial
Cemetery at King.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, June 2, from 4 to 8
p.m. with a Veterans of Foreign Wars service at 8 p.m.

Mr. Pomerenke was born May 29, 1932, in the town of Lanark, a son of the
late John and Grace (Pike) Pomerenke.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was married to Rachael Ruediger Bonnell on May 8, 1976.
He worked at the Waupaca Foundry for 38 years.
Survivors include his wife, Rachael Pomerenke, Waupaca; two sons,
William (Pamela) and Wayne (Tammy), both of Scandinavia; four daughters,
Linda (Larry) Mundt, Weyauwega, and Lorie (John) Witzeling, Kelly
(Robert) Hansen and Lisa (Greg) Schulke, all of Waupaca; five
stepchildren, Rebecca (Frank) Lawrence, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Doreen
(Chester) Papinaeu, Leslie (Neil Manteufel) Bonnell, DuWain (Kathy)
Bonnell and Sara (Tim) Burr, all of Waupaca; his foster child, Robert
(Charlene) Schulz; two sisters, Mildred Uhl, Amherst, and Rita (Charles)
Lamb, Clinton, Mo.; one brother, LaVern Pomerenke, Scandinavia; and many
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Steven Kaminski
Steven Kaminski, 91, Weston, a former Rosholt man, died Thursday, June
19, 2008, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wisconsin
Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in King, where full military honors will be
conducted.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home in Wausau is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kaminski was born June 3, 1917, in Milwaukee, a son of the late
Walter and Gladys (Wittman) Kaminski.
He was self-employed for most of his working career.
He was married to Sally Glapinski on Sept. 7, 1937, in Hatley.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was a member of the Rosholt American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Richard (Eileen), Greenfield; two
daughters, Elaine Glodowski, Weston, and Brenda (Gary) Zierke, Montello;
two sisters, Sylvia (Joe) Falkowski and Mae White, both of Rothschild;
eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one
great-grandchild.

Edward L. Coats
Edward L. Coals, 54, formerly of Stevens Point, died at
8:30 a.m. Monday at the Grand Army Home, King, where he had resided
since April 17.
Funeral services will follow a 12:30-1:30 visitation period
Thursday at the Grand Army Home. Burial will he in the home's cemetery.
Mr, Coats was the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Coats. He married
Dorothy Sether and lived in Stevens Point until 1972, working as a
painter and plasterer.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife. Dorothy Coats, West Allis; two
sons, Edward, McHenry, Ill., and Clifford, West Allis; one daughter,
Mrs. Leland (Arlene) Low, Menomonee Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Harold
(Dora) Dorr, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Waller (Delia) Emery, 2716
Frontenac Ave., and six grandchildren.

John E. Wilkening
John E. Wilkening, 74, Plover, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at his home
after a battle with cancer. He was under the care of Ministry Home Care
- Hospice Services.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Wisconsin
Veterans Home Chapel in King. Burial will take place in the Veterans
Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Veterans Chapel from 12:30 p.m. Friday until
the services.

Mr. Wilkening was born July 23, 1931, in Illinois, a son of the late
Arthur and Erna (Witt) Wilkening.
He entered the U.S. Army Feb. 7, 1952, in Chicago, Ill. He received the
Army Occupation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was
honorably discharged Jan. 20, 1954, at Fort Sheridan, Ill.
He was a pipe fitter for a number of years with Local Union 597.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 6 and a member of the
Mason's Amity Lodge 472.
Survivors include one daughter, Michelle Wilkening, Plover; one son,
Jeff (Pam), West Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Melvin (Dorothy),
Illinois, and Bob (Phyllis), Minnesota; one sister, Ruth Eidler,
Illinois; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a special
friend, Rita "Sweet Pea" Wroblewski.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one granddaughter.

Walter E. Lider
Walter E. Lider, 62, Amherst, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at St.
Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
A service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the Jungers-Holly
Funeral Home in Amherst, with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke officiating.
Burial will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King following the
services.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. Tuesday until the
service.
Mr. Lider was born Jan. 16, 1944, in Iola, a son of the late Walter J.
and Bernice (Redmen) Lider.
He served in the U.S. Army from June 1, 1961, to May 23, 1964.
Survivors include four sons, Benjamin and Joe (fiancée, Terresa Grundman),
both of Weyauwega, Jim, Kaukauna, and Greg, Neenah; one daughter, Karen
Hiezie, Northport; one brother, Richard, Arizona; his ex-wife, Phyllis
Reese-Lider, Weyauwega; and a friend, William D. Litscher, Amherst.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert; and one sister,
Margie Lider.

Dorothy M. Coats
Dorothy M. Coats, 85, Edgewater Manor, Stevens Point, died Sunday, Oct.
1, 2006, at St. Michael's Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Boston Funeral Home, with the
Rev. Alan Schaffmeyer officiating. Burial will take place later at the
Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery at King.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from
10 a.m. Wednesday until the services.
A memorial will be established in her name at a later date.
Mrs. Coats was born April 3, 1921, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the
late Gilbert and Mabel (Erickson) Sether. She attended schools here, and
then went back to high school to graduate on Nov. 22, 1999, at the age
of 79 with a GED.
She was married to Edward L. Coats. He died in 1973.
She was an active member of the Foster Grandparent Program at McKinley
Grade School in Stevens Point for more than 20 years. She performed
volunteer work for many charities, including the Salvation Army and the
Ruth Gilfry Center.
Survivors include one daughter, Arlene A. Low, Sun Prairie; one son,
Cliff (fiancée Nancy Schaeffer), Waukesha; one sister, Ruth Borski,
Kenosha; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Edward; and brothers and
sisters.

Frank J. Abbrederis Sr.
Frank J. Abbrederis Sr., 85, Plover, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at
Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Weyauwega.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Wisconsin Veterans
Home Chapel in King. Burial will follow in the Wisconsin Veterans
Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the chapel from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the

Mr. Abbrederis was born April 6, 1921, in Monroe, a son of the late John
and Nora (Redman) Abbrederis.
He entered the U.S. Army on May 22, 1944, at Fort Sheridan, Ill. He
served during World War II in Central Europe. He received the
European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one bronze battle
star, two overseas service bars, the Good Conduct Medal and the WWII
Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on March 18, 1946, at Camp
Grant, Ill.
He was married to Dolores Groszkiewicz on Nov. 29, 1941, in Milwaukee.
He worked for Wisconsin Motors (now Teledyne Industries) for 33 years,
retiring in 1976.
He was a member of the American Legion Rib Lake Post 274, Iditarod &
U.A.W.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James (Patricia), Stevens Point,
and Frank (Sandra) Jr., Merrill; one daughter, Linda (Roy) Rhode, Grand
Ronde, Ore.; one brother, Robert (Marcia); three sisters, Frances
Wieselman, Mary Weinhoff and Alice Kiss; eight grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and John.

William C. 'Bill' Bredek
William C. "Bill" Bredek, 80, 420 White Oak Ave., Plover, died Tuesday,
Feb. 27, 2007, at his home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Pisarski Community Funeral Home &
Cremation Center in Plover, with Pastor Jack Austin officiating. Private
burial will be at the Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Friday until the
services.

Mr. Bredek was born Dec. 14, 1926, in Kenosha, a son of immigrants from
Lithuania.
He served in the U.S. Army for 30 years, receiving his GED. He entered
the service on Sept. 19, 1946, at Fort Knox, Ky. He retired from the
Army as a sergeant major on March 3, 1975, at Fort Sheridan, Ill. He
served two tours of duty in Korea. He was stationed with his family for
two years in Turkey, three years in Germany and two years in Africa.
He received the Victory Medal, Occupation Medal, American Camp Ribbon,
Good Conduct with 3 loops, Sharp Shooter Medal, WWII Victory Medal,
American Occupational Medal Japan, Korean Service Medal with 4 bronze
service stars, Good Conduct Medal with 4 bronze loops, Fifth U.S. Army
Certificate of Achievement, Korean Medal of Achievement, Korean Service
Medal with 6 bronze stars, Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service
Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf
Cluster, Good Conduct 7th Award, Joint Service Commendation Medal,
Meritorious Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct 8th
Award, National Defense Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and
Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation Medal.
He was married to Ruth Beulah on Dec. 15, 1954, in Panama.
After serving in the army he took part in the GI Bill and received an
associate degree in accounting.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8637.
The couple also had a home in northern Wisconsin on Smokey Lake in
Phelps and he was a manager of Smokey Lake Reserve.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, Plover; four daughters, Jeanette
Bredek, Kenosha, Kathleen (Bob) Bredek, Arizona, Christine Riihimaki,
Phelps, and Jamie (Jim) Konopacky, Plover; one son, Bill(Marta),
Kenosha; and one grandson.

Helmer L. 'Karaoke Kowboy'
DeMeyer
Helmer L "Karaoke Kowboy" DeMeyer, 71, Stevens Point, died Saturday,
March 10, 2007, at his home while under the care of Aspirus Hospice and
his wife.
A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, at the Main
Chapel at the Veterans Home in King. Inurnment will be in the cemetery
at King.
A memorial will be established at a later date in lieu of flowers.

Mr. DeMeyer was born Oct. 18, 1935, in Rhinelander, a son of the late
Joseph and Eva (Winchell) DeMeyer. He attended school in Rhinelander.
He entered the United States Marine Corps on July 22, 1954, in
Milwaukee. He then re-enlisted in 1956, and then again in 1968. He
received the rank of master sergeant and was honorably discharged on
April 8, 1974.
He then served 10 years in the Marine Corp Reserves. During his military
service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action
Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal with 4 stars, The Vietnam Cross of Gallantry
with Cross and Frame, the Vietnam Service Medal with 5 bronze stars,
Pistol Expert Badge, the Letter of Appreciation Combat Action Ribbon,
the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation, Civil Action Color
1st Class with Palm and Frame, and the Presidential Unit Citation.
After military service, he was an accountant in many capacities and
owned his own tax service.
He was married to Rosemary Furo.
He was a member of the AMVETS.
He sang Karaoke and was known around the United States as the "Karaoke
Kowboy."
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Furo-DeMeyer; six sons, Jeff (
Kristi), Madison, Lance and Randy, both of Clinton, Iowa, Kevin
(Michele), Weston, and Kirk, Mountain Home, Ark.; one daughter, LaVonne
(Jeff) Rowland, Mountain Home, Ark.; one brother, Leslie "Les" (Irene),
Plover; and three sisters, Gloria, Marion and Winnie; and many
grandchildren.

Betty Mae Butler
Betty Mae Butler, 85, Wausau, a former Stevens Point resident, died
Friday, March 23, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at 1st United Methodist
Church in Wausau, with the Rev. Gerald Morris officiating. Burial will
take place at Wisconsin Veterans Memorial cemetery at King.
Visitation will be at the church from 2 p.m. Tuesday until the service.

Mrs. Butler was born May 21, 1921, in Wausau, a daughter of the late
Andrew and Jennie (Pearson) Rasmussen. She attended Wausau High School
and St. Mary's School of Nursing.
She was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.
She was married to Jack Butler on Feb. 24, 1949, in Denver, Colo. He
died in 1990. He had served on the Stevens Point Area School Board, was
president of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards and was a
co-founder of the Community Foundation of Portage County.
She worked as a registered nurse at the Rice Clinic in Stevens Point.
She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church in Wausau.
Survivors include one son, John, Wausau; one daughter, Jennifer (Tom)
Youtsos, Wausau; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her
special friend, Kathleen Grant.
She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Ruth Lawton and
Shirley Brandenburg.

Viette K. Einerson
Vietta K. Einerson, 76, 1908 Vermont Ave., Stevens Point, died Thursday,
Feb. 9, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. She suffered
complications following cancer surgery.
There will be no funeral service. Burial will be at a later date in the
Veterans Cemetery in King.
Visitation will be at the Shuda Funeral Chapel from 2 to 6 pm Sunday.
A memorial will be established in her name at a later date in lieu of

Mrs. Einerson was born Jan. 29, 1930 in Madison, a daughter of the late
George "Max" and Clara (Bossart) Mullen. She graduated from Madison
Central High School in 1948.
After high school she worked at Borden's Dairy and various laundry and
dry cleaning businesses in Madison.
She was married to Malcolm H. Einerson on March 22, 1958, in Dubuque,
Iowa.
After the marriage the couple settled in Madison where she was a
homemaker. They moved to Stevens Point in 1964 and have lived at their
present address since 1966.
She was active as a fund-raiser for Stevens Point Area Senior High

Survivors include her husband; one son, Dale (Michele), Lodi; one
daughter, Karen Einerson, Verona; one brother, Douglas (Shirley) Mullen,
Madison; and six grandsons.

Thomas A. Berg
Thomas A. Berg, 70, King, a former Stevens Point resident, died Sunday,
April 23, 2006, of congestive heart failure.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Main Chapel at
the King Veterans Home, with the Rev. Donald Berg officiating. Interment
of cremains will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery
in the town of Farmington in Waupaca County.
Memorials will be accepted for the American Heart Association in lieu of
flowers.
Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Berg was born June 9, 1935, in Edgar, a son of the late Oscar and
Edna (Straub) Berg. He attended St. John's Prep School in Collegeville,
Minn., graduating in 1953.
Upon graduation, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956.
He was married to Mary Vullings on Jan. 25, 1958.
He graduated from St. John's University in 1959.
He went to work at Honeywell in the Twin Cities as a credit manager.
In 1971, he and his family moved to Stevens Point. He retired from
Joerns/Sunrise Medical after serving as credit manager for many years to
go to work for his brother, Norbert, at the Boyer Creek Ranch, at the
time the largest red deer farm in the United States.
Survivors include two sons, John (Lori), Osseo, Minn., and Michael,
Stevens Point; two daughters, Monica Berg, Stevens Point, and Stephanie
(Clayton) Seavers, Junction City; his friend and former wife, Mary
Berg, Stevens Point; brothers, the Rev. Donald Berg, Edgar, Nobert
(Marilyn) Berg, Barronett, Marvin (Audrey) Berg, Gays Mills and David
(Darlene) Berg, Edgar; sisters, Dottie Kelm, St. Paul, Minn., and Sylvia
(Bill) Fergot, Edgar; five grandchildren; and his companion of the past
four years, Renae Koll, King.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Betsy and Theresa; and one
sister, Elaine.
