Gregory G. Marr
Gregory G. Marr, 52, Waupaca, editor of "Silent Sports" magazine and the
husband of the owner of Martha's Yarn Emporium in Stevens Point, died
Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca.
A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Holly Funeral Home in
Waupaca.
A memorial has been established in his name.
Mr. Marr was born April 6, 1951 in Wausau, a son of Johanna (Rogalla) Marr
and the late George P. Marr.
He was married to Martha (Groeschel) Fullmer on Jan. 23, 1993, in Waupaca.
He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens
Point.
He moved to Waupaca in the early 1980s and his first job there was with
the Waupaca County Post. Shortly after that he envisioned a publication
that would enable others to read about their passions, including
self-propelled aerobic activities such as biking, canoeing and cross
country skiing. That led to the creation of "Silent Sports" magazine.
While living in Waupaca, he continued to play softball in Stevens Point.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Fullmer, Waupaca; one stepdaughter,
Amanda Fullmer, Waupaca, one stepson, David Fullmer, Wausau; his mother,
Johanna Marr, Eland; one brother, Bill (Terri) Marr, O'Fallon, Mo.; and
one sister, Darlene Lorbiecki, Eland.

Eleanore S. Mehne
Eleanore S. Mehne, 94, Waupaca, a town of Buena Vista native, died
Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Bethany Home in Waupaca.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Immanuel
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca, with the Revs. Jeffrey Holtan and
Aaron Winkleman officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial Park
Cemetery in Waupaca.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service.
The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with

Mrs. Mehne was born Feb. 24, 1915, in the town of Buena Vista, a daughter
of the late Theodore and Augusta (Boelter) Yonke.
She was married to Jacob G. Mehne on May 2, 1932, in Almond. He died on
March 25, 1973.
She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband.
She was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca.
Survivors include one son, Herb (Judy), Menomonie; one daughter; Ann (Ron)
Lillyroot, Cedarburg; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters.

Waupaca County Post - Waupaca, Wisconsin - July 8, 1971
Irene Hansen Baumann, 50, route 2, Baraboo, a former Waupaca
resident, died at 8:15 Monday morning, July 5, at ST. Clare hospital,
Baraboo, where she was a patient for about two weeks.
She was born
Feb. 20, 1921 in Waupaca and was married in 1965 to Arthur Baumann, who
survives. She was employed as a nurses aid. In addition to her husband,
she is survived by one brother, Guy Moore, Baraboo, and three sisters,
Mrs. Myrtle Schaeffer, Waupaca, Mrs. Glenna Scheels, Fort Atkinson, Wisc.,
and Mrs. Ruth Peterson, San Pablo, Calif.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 this afternoon, July 8, at
Holly Funeral Home, with the Rev. A. S. Petersen, pastor of Trinity
Lutheran church,
officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery. Friends
may call at the Funeral Home from 12 noon
until the hour of service.

Mrs. McMahan Dies
Funeral
services for Dollie (Wilde) Moore McMahan, 69, Rt. 4, Waupaca, were
conducted from the Holly funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, with
Rev. A. S. Petersen, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran church officiating.
Burial was in Lakeside cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy Bruce, Ted Hill, Ed
Clapps, Peter Hill, Eugene Parse and Jack Green.
Mrs.
McMahan, the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Wilde, died in Madison, Dec. 31
after n illness of four months. She was born in Waupaca, Sept 22, 1880.
She married
George Moore, Jr., May 21, 1898; and in Jun 11, 1919 she was married to
Allie McMahan in Waupaca. Her first husband died.
Her survivors are four daughters, the Mmes. Glenna Scheels,
Fort Atkinson, Ruth Peterson, Richmond, Calif., Myrtle Schaeffer and
Kenneth Hansen, Waupaca; two sons, Guy Moore, Pardeeville and Jay Moore,
Washington; two sisters, the Mmes. Laura Arnold, Waupaca and Joe King,
Lewis; two brothers, Eugene Wilde, Iron Mountain, Mich., and Harry Wilde,
Land o' Lakes.

Nicoline Nohr
Mrs. L. Nohr Passed Away Thursday At Home of Daughter
Mrs. L. Nohr passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Indestand,
Mill Street, this city, as 4:30 p.m. April 22, 1926, after an eighteen
months’ illness due to Bright’s disease.
Nicoline Christine Bendixen was born in Grested, Denmark, Oct. 23, 1857,
and emigrated to America in 1880, coming direct to Waupaca where, in
September, 1882 she was united in marriage to Lauritz Nohr. Mr. and Mrs.
Nohr moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where they made their home until 1894
when they returned with their family to Wisconsin, settling in
Parfreyville, on the present homestead.
Eight
children were born of this union: Agnes, who died while serving as a
nurse in the World War; Albert of Weyauwega, Wis.; Edward, of Pasadena,
Calif.; Mamie (Mrs. Henry Indestad), this city; Harry, Mineral Point,
Wis.; Lily (Mrs. LeRoy Funk), this city; Benjamin, Wisconsin Veterans’
Home. One son died in infancy.
There are left to mourn, the husband and six children, nine grandchildren,
and two brothers, Wm. J. Bendixen of Green Bay, Wis., and Lawrence F.
Bendixen of Washington, D.C.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Holy Ghost Lutheran
church of which deceased had been a member for many years. Rev. K.M.
Matthiesen performed the last sad rites, and interment was made in
Lakeside cemetery.
The many beautiful floral tributes spoke for the kind thoughts and esteem
of her friends and neighbors.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. H.E.
Nohr of Mineral Point; W.J. Bendixen, Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Hoppensperger and Mr. and Mrs. Heinz, Appleton, and Mr. and Mrs. George
Nohr of Almond.
The pall bearers were: N.L. Baker, Wm. Barlow, Oscar Smith, Wm. Hebard,
Clair Holman and Charles Huntoon.

E. Peterson
Lucille E. Peterson, 96, Three Lakes, a town of Buena Vista
native and former Waupaca resident, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at her
home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, at the First
United Methodist Church in Waupaca, with the Rev. Cathy J.N. Weigand
officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the service.
A memorial has been established to the Humane Society of Waupaca County,
PO Box 145, Waupaca, WI 54981.

Mrs. Peterson was born June 13, 1912, in the town of Buena Vista in
Portage County, a daughter of the late Frank and Fausta (Pray) Buelow.
She was married to Norman A. Peterson on June 15, 1946, in Waupaca. He
died on Dec. 26, 1998.
Survivors include one daughter, Naoma (John) Schmidt, Three Lakes; one
son, Richard (Carol) Larson, Cedarburg; one sister, Leona Kraus, Wautoma;
six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd Lorenzo Larson;
one son, Lloyd Larson Jr.; and one brother, Arlie Buelow.

Nels Peterson
Nels Peterson, a 94-year-old retired Waupaca blacksmith, died Monday at
his home after a short illness.
Mr. Peterson, a native of Denmark, had been at resident of Waupaca most of
his life.
He was born Jan. 1, 1862, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs, Rasmus Peterson,
and came to this country as a child. On April 24 1883, he was married in
Waupaca to Julia Anderson, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are three children Dr. R. O. Peterson, Racine, Harry L.
Peterson, Waupaca, and Mrs. Hugh Staffon, Sheboygan; three grandchildren;
three great-grand children, and three half-sisters Mrs.
Anna Larson, Peshtigo. Mrs Minnie Benson, Rosholt, and Mrs Ella Wrolstad,
Amherst Junction
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the Trinity Lutheran
church, Waupaca with Rev. A. S. Petersen officiating, and burial will take
place in Lakeside cemetery. Friends may call it the
Holly funeral home Waupaca.

Virtle L. Paulson
Virtle L. Paulson, 90, Waupaca, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at the Crystal
River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waupaca.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church
in Waupaca, with the Rev. Larry Gross officiating. Interment will be in
Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca at a later date.
Visitation was scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Holly Funeral Home
in Waupaca and at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the service.
Mrs. Paulson was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Hope, N.D., a daughter of the
late Henry and Virtle (Restorf) Huffstutler.
She was married to Sanford W. Paulson on Jan. 15, 1941, in Columbia
Heights, Minn. He died on Dec. 16, 2000.
She was member of the First Baptist Church of Waupaca, having served as a
Sunday school teacher and working with the Baptist Youth Fellowship group,
and with the ladies groups.
She and her husband were supporters of the Rawhide Boys Ranch in New
London. They were also foster parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon (Larry) Zempel, Waupaca; one son,
Jerry (Marcy), Plover; one brother, Bernard (Shirley) Huffstutler; eight
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was also preceded in death by two infant sisters, Shirley and
Audrey-Ella; one sister, Viola Durrant; three brothers, Ernest, Wayne and
Harold Huffstutler; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
