Dear
Wife
I have
not heard from you since you wrote to father. I have not had any letter
since. I am wel and have plenty of thrashing and the machine runs well
and we have not had any break downs this year but we thrash along every
day even the weather is good we have lost some time with wet weather and
we have had a great deal of wet grain to thrash we have earned two
hundred and ninety four dollars and have enough engaged to make it up to
four hundred dollars. It will take us eighteen or twenty days to finish
the jobs we have now engaged if it is al good weather and good luck. I
am sorry to hear that you have not got my letters. I have written you
three or four and directed to Waupakee falls and one of them had a ten
dollar bill in. I hope you have got it before this time. I have
written two and directed to Strongs Landing the first was mailed at
racine the day that Thomas started from home to come to the Landing and
the other was written two weeks after and I am afraid he would not get
either one of them. I have written to you once in two weeks as I told
wonda? I will write you two today one to Waupacky and the other to
Berlin and hope you wil get one or the other or both of them. I cannot
get home for a month yet and perhaps not then. I would send you some
more money but I am afraid you could not get it if you get out of
provisions you must borrow some money and send and get wat you want but
if you wil write me as soon as you get this and if the mail at Waupackey
has got regulated so that you can get it I wil send you some yet
