 MINISTERS IN SESSION

The Methodist Pastors of  Waupaca County Meet - Personals

Weyauwega, Wis. Jan. 6.—The Waupaca Ministers union met Monday, January 3 in the First Methodist church at Waupaca. There were present Revs. Webster Miller of Waupaca, E. D. Allen of Parfreyville, Chaplain J. N. Brawn of the Veterans home, and J. S. Neff and J. Boyd Stephenson of this village. The Misses Caffrey and Bonnell who are holding revival services at the Veterans' home were present and favored the meeting with singing. Rev. Mr. Brown delivered the sermon. Rev. Mr. Allen read a paper upon the subject. "The Church and the Masses." An open discussion followed. The ladies of the M. E. and Baptist churches served the dinner. The meeting adjourned to meet February 7 in Amherst with Rev. R. W. Smith. Miss Lorna O'Brien of Oshkosh has been a guest of her friend, Miss Edna Edwards.

Information has been received here of the death in New York city of  Mrs. Mathews, widow of James Matthews. Deceased left this village some twenty years ago after the death of her husband, and entered St. Luke's Home; for the Aged, an Episcopal institution where she died. She was nearly ninety years of age. Mr. Matthews was a pioneer business man of this village and is buried here beside his first wife and only child.
