William
Fisher
William Fisher, 87, Route 1, Waupaca, died Saturday at Riverside
Hospital, Waupaca.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Holly
Funeral Home, Waupaca, where friends may call after 4 p.m. today. Burial
will be in Rural Cemetery.
Mr. Fisher was born Sept. 1, 1890, in the Town of Lanark, a
son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Fisher. He married Loretta Tiechert
on Sept. 16, 1920, in Stevens Point. She died June 18, 1962.
He was a member of Stevens Point Lodge 93, Odd Fellows, and
Barbara Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (June) Booth,
Sussex, and Mrs. Thomas (Lois) Lang, West Allis; one sister, Mrs. Stella
Gerston, in California; and nine grandchildren.

Kenneth
E. Hurlbut Jr.
Kenneth E. Hurlbut Jr., 75, Waupaca, a Stevens Point native, died
unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Waupaca, with the Rev. Nathan Liedtke officiating. Burial will be in the
spring at Rural Cemetery in the town of Dayton in Waupaca County.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the services.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Hurlbut was born Dec. 13, 1932, in Stevens Point, a son of the late
Kenneth and Elizabeth (Swan) Hurlbut.
He was married to Marjorie Schmahl on June 11, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran
Church in Waupaca. She died March 10, 2007.
He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a
teaching degree and later added master's degrees in mathematics and
administration.
He began his 33-year teaching and coaching career at Wisconsin Rapids High
School. In 1967, he moved to Glenbrook South High School in Glenview,
Ill., and there also became the head football coach. In 1975, he retired
from coaching and teaching to become the full-time coordinator of
athletics.
In 1988, he and his wife retired to the Chain O' Lakes in Waupaca County.
He became involved in local Waupaca politics and served as chairman of the
town of Dayton, a Waupaca County Board member and a board member of the
Lake District.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Brian) Feest, Appleton; one son,
Mark (Karen), Muskego; two sisters, Shirley (Earl) Newby, Kenosha, and
Betty (Robert) Kessler, Waupaca; two brothers, Dave (Jan), Lakewood, and
Rick, Waupaca; and four grandchildren.

Michael
J. Abhold
Michael J. Abhold, 52, Fremont, brother of an Almond man and an Amherst
woman, died Monday, July 21, 2008, at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Holly Funeral Home
in Waupaca. Burial will be at Rural Cemetery in the town of Dayton in
Waupaca following the service.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Friday until the
service.

Mr. Abhold was born Jan. 11, 1956, in Neenah, a son of Vera (Hinz) Abhold
and the late Howard Abhold Sr.
He was married to Jean Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Anderson, Tustin; his mother, Vera Abhold,
Fremont; his siblings, Pat (Lisa) Spaulding, Wisconsin Rapids, Kenneth
Abhold, Fremont, Larry (Louise) Abhold, Almond, Sharon (Ron Riley) Hamm,
Waupaca, Laura Conlon, Iola, Danny Abhold, Menasha, Sandy (Mark) Elias,
Amherst, Keith (Tally) Abhold, El Paso, Kelly (Pam) Abhold, Weyauwega, Tom
(Cindy) Abhold, Waupaca/Scandinavia, and Angel (Victor) Hood, Fremont.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Abhold; and two
brothers, Chuck Abhold and Howard Abhold Jr.

In
this city on the 18th inst. Roena, wife of the late Lyman Dayton,
aged 83 years.
Deceased was the mother of William and Laurette Dayton of this city, and
she had lived in Waupaca county over 35 years, she with her husband
settling Dayton in 1850. She was a kind mother, an exemplary christian
woman and loved by all who knew her. From the effects of an accident in
falling a few years ago she never fully recovered, but her life's work is
over-she has gone to meet her reward.
Rev.
Chas. Baker of
Marshfield
will preach the funeral sermon at the residence, at
1 p.m., Saturday and the remains will be laid at rest in the Rural
cemetery beside her late husband, who was buried there about eight years
ago. Rev. Baker also preached the funeral sermon on that occasion.

Ira McCrary of Rural, was killed by a falling tree, Saturday
morning. He was a brother of Geo. McCrary of this place. He leaves a wife
and one daughter, Mrs. Pantridge of Waupaca, also two brothers and two
sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. McCrary and daughter Margie attended the
