Mrs. Dora E. Sherman
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Plainfield United
Methodist Church for Mrs. Dora E. Sherman, 86, Plainfield, who died Monday
at St. Michael's Hospital here after a long illness.
The Rev. Edward Ketcham will officiate and burial will take place in the
Plainfield Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday at
the Goult-Gasperic Funeral Home in Plainfield.
Mrs. Sherman was the daughter of the late Benager and Hattie Chalker. She
was born in Phillips Sept. 15, 1890, and had lived in Plainfield 60 years.
She was married Sept. 3, 1910, in Brantwood to John Sherman, who preceded
her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Dennis, Wautoma, Delos, Sheboygan Falls, and
Laurel, Minneapolis: three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Mirilla) Bertotto,
Plainfield, Mrs. Randall (Leta) Erickson, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Donald
{Elizabeth) Nelson, Plainfield; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren;
and a sister, Mrs. Leta Quimby, Montebello, Calif,
Two brothers, three sisters and a son preceded her in death.

Mrs. Beulah Lant
Mrs. Beulah Lant, 77, Plainfield, died Wednesday at Wild Rose Nursing
Home, Wild Rose.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Goult-Gasperic Funeral
Home, Plainfield, and burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in
Coloma.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. today and a Rebekah
Lodge service will be held at 7:30 p.m. The Hamilton Funeral Home, Hancock
is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lant was born Sept. 7, 1899, in Adams
County, a daughter of William and Florence Gray . She married Sanford Lant
on Sept. 19, 1920.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a 50-year member of
Harmony Rebekah Lodge, Plainfield, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of
the Patriarch's Militant Unit of Stevens Point.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Glennis Home, Janesville;
and a son, Carroll, Milwaukee.

Wautoma, Wis., May 5. (Special)-John
Carpenter, an old resident of this town is dead. Deceased was born in
New York state June 7, 1817. He moved to Wisconsin and settled in Waushara
county in 1860. He was 81 years of age and is survived by five children.

Mrs. William Straw, who
resided three miles west of this village, died Wednesday morning after a
short illness. Deceased was 40 years of age, and leaves a husband and six
children.

Albert A. (Al) Miller
Albert A. "Al" Miller Sr., 86, Wautoma, father of a Milladore man and a
former owner of a Plainfield service station, died Sunday, July 23, 2006
at the Wild Rose Manor in Wild Rose.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Leikness Funeral Home in
Wautoma. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery in the town of Marion in
Waushara County.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon Wednesday until the
services.
Mr. Miller was born April 8, 1920, in Evanston, Ill., a son of the late
John and Alvine (Bergman) Miller.
He was married to Edna Borland on Sept. 16, 1944, in Evanston, Ill. She
died on Aug. 18, 1999. He served in the United States Army. After service,
he returned to Evanston, Ill., were he managed a gas station for a number
of years. He later moved to Plainfield were he owned a dairy farm until
1965. He then managed the Skelly Truck Stop in Plainfield from 1965 until
1970. In 1970 he and his wife purchased Miller's Moose Inn in Wautoma and
operated it until his retirement in 1990.
He was a past president of the Special Deputy Association and Waushara
Tavern League. He was currently a member of the Special Deputy
Association.
Survivors include two sons, Albert (Linda), Milladore, and William "Bill,"
Wautoma; one daughter, Debra (William) Schmitz, Redgranite; and three
grandchildren.

Amanda Lee Hansen
Amanda Lee Hansen, 18, Plainfield, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, as the
result of a car accident in the town of Plainfield in Waushara County.
Burial services will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Leikness & Stahl Funeral
Home in Plainfield, with a procession to Plainfield Village Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2
p.m. Wednesday until the services. A time of remembrance service will be
held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. A memorial has been established.
Ms. Hansen was born Dec. 18, 1987, in Stevens Point, a daughter of David
and Shellie (Downey) Hansen. She was a 2006 graduate of Tri-County High
School. She worked as a customer service representative at the Plainfield
Truck Stop.
Survivors include her parents, Shellie Downey Hansen and David and Sarah
Hansen; three sisters, Danielle Downey, Julianna Hansen and Abigail
Hansen; one brother, Dillon DeFord; her fiancι, Josh DeGand; her
grandparents, Tom Downey, Barbara Downey, Jerry and Virginia Hansen and
John and Doris Hobson; and her great-grandmother, Tressie Courtier.

Kaylene A. Peterson, 45, Plainfield, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at St.
Michael's Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Leikness & Stahl
Funeral Home in Plainfield. Burial will be in the Hancock Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and again
from 9 a.m. Saturday until the services.
Mrs. Peterson was born Nov. 5, 1960, in Woodstock, Ill., a daughter of the
late Frank and JoAnn (Storlie) Smiley Sr. She attended Hoover High School
in Glendale, Calif., before moving to Plainfield, where she graduated from
Tri-County High School in 1978. She was married to Michael J. Peterson on
April 15, 1983, in Wautoma. She was an avid collector of angel figurines,
as well as an avid watcher of the Jerry Lewis Telethon for muscular
dystrophy, which she had been battling for many years.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Joshua Czlapinski, Portage; four
brothers, Frank "Gus" Smiley Jr., Wautoma, Mark (Susan) Smiley, Hancock,
Bruce Smiley, Plainfield, Chris (Michelle) Smiley, Rochester, Minn.; one
sister, Lee Ann (Tom) McCauley, Plainfield; and four grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Christine and Cynthia; and
one brother, Lyle David.

Valerie Ann 'Val' Wilkins, 51, Plainfield, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006,
at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Hancock Wesleyan
Church, with Pastor Al Spitler officiating. Burial will be in Plainfield
Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Leikness and Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield from 3
to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, and at the church from 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, until the services. A celebration of life
will be held at the Hancock
Community Center from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, with Pastor Gary
Zacharias sharing during dinner.
A memorial in her name has been established at the Plainfield Community

Mrs. Wilkins was born Aug. 30, 1955, in Del Rio, Texas, a daughter of the
late Byron and Marcella (Kortas) Goodwin. She was married to David H.
Wilkins on May 29, 1977, in Plainfield.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Ian (Jennifer Willfahrt), Adam (Kasie
Stroik), Rory and Tyler; one daughter, Brooke (Daniel) Barker; two
sisters, Reinie (Gregg) Ruffalo and Wendy (John) Caves; six brothers, Ron
Goodwin, Terry Goodwin, Hal Goodwin, Tim (Donica) Goodwin, Tom (Mariah)
Goodwin and Pat (Julie) Goodwin; and one granddaughter.

Gladys C.
Indermuehle, 94, Plainfield, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at St. Michael's
Hospital.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Leikness & Stahl Funeral
Home in Plainfield, with the Rev. Richard Fite of the Plainfield Methodist
Church officiating. Burial will be in the Plainfield Village Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Thursday until the
services.
Mrs. Indermuehle was born May 24, 1912, in Orfordville, a daughter of the
late Chris and Gina Sorenson. She was married to William J.
Indermuehle on September 5, 1930. He died on April 1, 1946. She was
employed at the Union Telephone Co. for 58 years, until her retirement in
1995. She was a member of the Plainfield Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Zettelmeier, Plainfield; three
grandchildren, Debbie (Larry) Monroe, Hancock, Randy (Mary) Zettelmeier,
Jefferson, and Darlene (Randy) Thurley, Plainfield; seven
great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Alvin.

Donald H. Glaske
Sr., 68, Hancock, a retired vice president of operations for Plainfield
Trucking, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens
Point.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul
Catholic Church in Plainfield. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in
Coloma, with full military honors.
Visitation will be at the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield from
4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the
Mass. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral
home. A memorial in his name has been established in lieu of flowers.

Mr. Glaske was born Jan. 26, 1938, in Coloma, a son of the late Emil H.
and Margaret L. (Hensel) Glaske. He was a 1956 graduate of Westfield High
School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was married to Myra K.
Hartman on June 13, 1964, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Plainfield. He
was employed by Plainfield Trucking for 40 years, where he started as one
of their first truck drivers and later retired as vice president of
operations. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Plainfield.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Ginzl, Pulaski,
and Terri (Chad) Gillen, Appleton; one son, Don (Sheila), Mackville; two
sisters, Louella (Hank) Pomplun, Richford, and Doris House, Menomonee
Falls; and six grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Loretta, Vivian and
Margaret.

Isabel M. Koslowski, 84, New Berlin,
a former owner of K's Bakery in Hancock, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at
the Wisconsin Heart Hospital in Milwaukee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul
Catholic Church in Plainfield. Burial will be in the Hancock Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the Mass. The Leikness &
Stahl Funeral Home of Plainfield is assisting the family with
arrangements.
Mrs. Koslowski was born April 12, 1922, in Maplewood, Wis., a daughter of
the late Arthur and Clara Holtz. She was married to John P. Koslowski on
June 28, 1947, in Manitowoc. He died Dec. 27, 2001. She and her husband
owned and operated K's Bakery in Hancock for 10 years.
Survivors include
three daughters, Joanne (John) Kovac, Nekoosa, and twins, Rita and Ruth
Koslowski, both of New Berlin; one brother, Leonard (Mary Ann) Holtz,
Manitowoc; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Margaret Mary
Splitt, 90, Redgranite, mother of a Stevens Point man, died Sunday, Feb.
18, 2007, at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St.
Mark Catholic Church in Redgranite, with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep
officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark Parish Cemetery in Redgranite.
Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Thursday until the Mass. The
Ruminski Funeral Home of Redgranite is assisting the family with
arrangements.
Mrs. Splitt was born July 5, 1916, in Redgranite, a daughter of the late
Albion and Clara (Gonyo) Chipman. She was raised in Redgranite and was a
1934 graduate of Redgranite High School. She was married to Edward P.
Splitt on July 29, 1944, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Redgranite. He
died Aug. 31, 1974.
She lived in Milwaukee and Chicago prior to returning to Redgranite in
1963. She was employed in a munitions plant in Milwaukee during World War
II. She was a clerk at Burman's Pharmacy in Redgranite for 20 years. She
collected angels, baskets, refrigerator magnets, pictures and pencil
sharpeners.
She was an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Redgranite and the
C.C.W. (Sodality) and Mission Society of the Church. She also was a member
of the Redgranite AMVETS Auxiliary, and the Redgranite Golden Alumni
Association. She was elected Golden Alumni Queen at the annual Labor Day
Reunion in 2005.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Ellen), Stevens Point, and Patrick
(Deidre), Berlin; one daughter, Deborah (John) Hughes, Lebanon, Ore.;
eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine and Florence; and
five brothers, Dexter, Don, Jack, Robert and Albion.

Robert L. "Bob"
Rumpel, 80, Plainfield, a former longtime member of the Plainfield Village
Board died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at his home.
Memorial services with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m.
Saturday in the United Methodist Church in Plainfield, with the Rev.
Richard R. Fite officiating. Inurnment will be in the Plainfield Village
Cemetery at a later date. A memorial visitation will be held at the
Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and at
the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the services. Condolences may be

Mr. Rumpel was born Jan. 24, 1927, in West Allis, a son of the late
Matthew H. and Lillian (Woodward) Rumpel. He served in the U.S. Army
during World War II. He was married to Elizabeth "Betty" Weldon on July
28, 1947. He was a manager of the former Woodward Implement Company of
Plainfield and was also employed at James Burns & Sons Farms in Almond. He
served on the Plainfield Village Board for many years. He was a lifetime
member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the United
Methodist Church in Plainfield.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Susan Rumpel, Waupun, Kathryn
(Anthony) Ristau, Oshkosh, Mary (friend Wayne) Saleska, Fond du Lac, and
LeeAnne Gaschk, Oshkosh; two sons, Tim D. (special friend, Debra), Panama
City, Fla., and Matthew (Kaye), Sheffield, England; 11 grandchildren; and
nine great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald; and one
great-granddaughter.

Ingalls Parker
Margaret I. Parker,
92, Fireside Apartments, Whiting, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at St.
Michael's Hospital.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Highland
Church in Plover, with the Rev. Dan Winkelman officiating. Cremation will
follow, and her ashes will be buried later in Hancock Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point from 4 to 8
p.m. Friday and at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the celebration.
Mrs. Parker was born June 16, 1914, in Coloma, a daughter of the late
Edmund and Leafie (Hall) Ingalls. She grew up and attended schools in that
area. She was married to Ora Parker on Nov. 17, 1930, in Hancock. He died
Feb. 14, 1965. She worked for a time at Hannon-Bach drug store in Stevens
Point, but was mostly a homemaker.
In 1950 she and her husband moved to Grand Rapids, Minn., where they
helped to pioneer a Full Gospel Church. She was active in the Women's
Missionary program there and taught Sunday School.
Following her husband's death, she returned to Stevens Point in 1967. She
worked as a nurse's aide for a time, then moved to Waupaca where she
worked in the Assembly of Good Bookstore. Following retirement in 1978 she
returned to the Stevens Point area, where she has resided since.
She was a member of The Highland Church and the Women's Missionary group.
She also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Richard) Moss, Stevens Point, and
Millie Meyer, Cohassett, Minn.; one son, Richard (Gayle), Cohassett,
Minn.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and three
grandchildren.

Marjorie M.
Storzbach Martin
Marjorie M. Martin, 92, Plainfield,
a former restaurant owner in the Almond and Plainfield
areas, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at the Stevens Point
Care Center in Whiting.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Leikness & Stahl
Funeral Home in Plainfield,
with the Rev. Richard R. Fite officiating. Inurnment will be in the
Plainfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Saturday until the
services. Memorials would be appreciated for the United Methodist Church
or the Plainfield Senior Center. Condolences may be offered at

Mrs. Martin was born Jan. 30, 1915, in the town of Oasis in Waushara
County, a daughter of the late Fred and Stella (Starks) Storzbach. She
graduated from Plainfield High School. She was married to Carol Martin on
Oct. 21, 1934. He preceded her in death.
She and her husband were well known in the Plainfield and Almond
areas for the food they served at various restaurants they owned. She was
a member of the United Methodist Church in Plainfield.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Renee Martin, Lake Havasu City,
Ariz.; one grandson, Michael, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and two
sisters-in-law, Virginia Storzbach, Sandwich, Ill., and Darlene Martin, Clinton, Iowa.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Robert; one brother, Bernard
Storzbach; and one sister, Ethelyn Elliott.
