and Clarence E. Hutson, Jr.
Karen King Will Be Married In Plainfield
Last minute details were being completed this afternoon in
preparation for the wedding at 4 o'clock in the Plainfield Methodist
Church of 'Miss Karen A, King, daughter of the LaVern Kings of the
Town of Pine Grove, and Clarence E. Hutson Jr., whose parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Hutson Sr.F Jive in Maryville, Mo.
The Rev. Verner
Falk will perform the candlelight ceremony In a setting of bouquets
of cut flowers.
Miss King has
selected a floor-length gown of embroidered silk organza. It has a
sabrina neckline and short sleeves, with a sequin-studded bodice and
apron skirt.
A crown of seed
pearls will hold her elbow-length veil, and her flowers will be an
orchid surrounded by mums, the mums also on cascading ribbons.
Miss Brenda Chudo
is to be her maid of honor. She will appear in a vivid blue nylon,
street-length dress with large bell sleeves. Its full skirt is
circled at the midriff with blue lace.
She will carry a
colonial bouquet of white mums, entwined with blue net and matching
ribbons.
Misses Barbara King
and Nola Sullivan, who have accepted roles as bridesmaids, will wear
similar dresses in pale blue with white lace midriffs. Matching
headpieces, flowers, gloves and satin slippers
complete their costumes.
Marsha Zettler,
cousin of the bride-elect, will be flower girl. Her dress will be
similar to that of the maid of honor, with blue accessories. She
will carry a colonial bouquet of white mums. Miss King's brother,
Robert, will be best man. Her cousin, James King, and David
Sullivan, a friend of the bridegroom-elect, will be groomsmen.
A reception and 6 o'clock dinner are to follow in the church parlors, where
some 100 guests are expected.
A large sweetheart
wedding cake will center the bridal table. Guests tables will have
clusters of sugarbells and blue candles at each.
The couple plans to
leave afterward on a two-week wedding trip that will take them to Nashville, Tenn. They
will be at home on their return, about Aug. 20, at 1452 1/2 1st St. N.
in Wisconsin Rapids. Mr. Hutson is employed in Wisconsin Rapids as
an assemblyman at Preway, Inc. Miss King is employed by
Nekoosa-Edwards Paper Co. there. He is a graduate of the Stanberry (Mo.) High School, and she was graduated from Tri-County High
School, Plainfield, last year.
Wedding guests were expected from Maryville, Mo, .Marshfield,
Milwaukee, Wisconsin Rapids and the Bancroft and Plainfield
vicinity.

Miss Marie
Sherman Weds In Plainfield
Yellow and bronze mums and eroton leaves in two tall arrangements
were features of the altar decorations in St. Paul's Catholic
Church, Plainfield, Saturday when Miss Marie Lucille Sherman
exchanged wedding vows with John Warren Romppainen.
The Rev. John
Schmltt performed a double ring service at 11:30 a.m. for the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh Sherman, Plainfield,
and the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Romppainen, Hancock, Mich.
Mrs. Henry Kollock,
the organist, played the wedding marches and accompanied Alan
Matthias Jr., who sang "Jesus at Thy Feet I'm Kneeling."
The bride, who was
given In marriage by her father, chose a floor-length gown fashioned
of Chantilly lace. Sequin appliques detail the sabrina neckline of
its fitted bodice which had long, pointed sleeves.
The appliques were repeated on each ruffle of the skirt which
cascaded from the waistline to a chapel train.
Her bouffant veil
of imported English illusion was joined to a high crown of seed
pearls and crystals. She carried a cascade of yellow roses and
leather leaf fern with white ribbons.
Serving as matron
of honor was Mrs. Gregg Livingston, La Grange, Ill., sister of the
bridegroom, with Miss Carol Mau, Plainfield.
and Mrs. Matt Zimmerman, Milwaukee, as the bridesmaids.
Mr. Livingston
performed the duties of best man for his brother-in-law, while
Donald Sherman, Plainfield,
the bride's brother, and Mr. Zimmerman took their places as
groomsmen. The ushers were Duane Sherman, another brother of the
bride, and David Saari, the latter of Milwaukee.
The bride's
attendants wore matching floor - length frocks of antique gold
satin, made with bell - shaped, skirts, high, round necklines and
short sleeves. Their pillbox - styled bands held gold - colored
veils.
Each carried a bouquet of large bronze mums and croton leaves.
Following the ceremony, a noon dinner was served in the church hall for 250 guests.
The couple left for
a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin and Illinois. They will be at
home after Nov. 14 at 5119A W. North Ave., Milwaukee,
where both are employed.
The bridegroom, a
graduate of the Hancock, Mich., High. School, served for four years
in the Navy. He is employed as a salesman at the Boston Store. His
bride, who was graduated from' Tri - County Area High
School, Plainfield, is a receptionist for the Canteen Co. Guests
attended the wedding from Hancock and Houghton, Mich., Augusta, Ga.,
Dubuque, Iowa, Illinois, Milwaukee, Sheboygan, Plymouth, Glenbeulah,
Friendship, Wisconsin Rapids, Nekoosa, Plover, Almond, Bancroft,
Rothschild and the Plainfield area.
Before her marriage the bride was entertained at three showers. She
was guest of .honor at two -miscellaneous showers, one given by Mrs.
Robert Solomon at her Milwaukee home and another by Mrs. Bertie
Tolley, Arkdale, and Mrs. James Rothermel, Wisconsin Rapids, at the
home of Mrs. Raleigh Sherman, Plainfield. Mrs. Edwin Biderwolf and
Mrs. Eugene Biderwolf entertained at a gift shower in Sheboygan.
