Woodland Cemetery
Parkland, Douglas County, Wisconsin

  • Date: June 30, 2001
  • Transcriber: Judith Mooney Lindgren  Copyright 2001
  • Recorded: All visible headstones were recorded.
  • Address: Co Rd Z & Cemetery Rd, Parkland, Wisconsin
  • Directions: From Superior take south Hwy 35 to east Co Rd C, to north Co Rd A, to east Co Rd Z, follow Z to the top of a hill (after going under a railroad trestle) Cemetery Rd is located at the top of the hill to the left, follow the road all the way to the dead end.
  • Owner: Unknown
  • Contacts: No longer used for burials.
  • Condition: The cemetery is not well kept, needs mowing and hard to see all the headstones. A lot of them are broken. Its at the top of a hill in a meadow like area. Some trees and lots of waist high grass in mid-summer. Layout of cemetery is not achieveable, but a Platt Map shows what it should look like. I could not place where each headstone was found so no Map Loc are given.
  • History: First Division was platted in Sept 1897. This cemetery has Civil War Veterans and some very old headstones. This was a beautiful cemetery left to go to ruin by who ever owns the land.
  • Note: Copies of the funeral records and all who are buried there can be obtained from Wisconsin State Genealogical Society purchased for $.50 a page. What I have here is just the headstones that I found while recording the cemetery.
