Fire of unknown origin completely destroyed the unfinished summer home of M.J.Tennes on Cranberry Lake near Eagle River Thursday morning causing a loss estimated at approximately $100,000.
The blaze was discovered at about 10 o'clock by members of the construction crew at work on the new building. The blaze spread rapidly and within an hour the entire structure had been consumed by the flames. The house was completed with the exception of the laying of the hardwood floors and other work. Plastering of the walls had been started this week.
Word was sent to Mr. Tennes immediately and he arrived Friday having come to Rhinelander from Chicago on the morning North Western train. He was accompanied by a party of nine persons, including members of his family and the contractor who had charge of the summer home. Whether or not Mr. Tennes will rebuild is not known.
